The Nature of Man - Good or Evil?

One of many stark contrasts between a secular worldview and a biblical worldview is over the nature of man. The secular view is that man is basically good, by nature, but becomes corrupted by various familial and environmental influences. The Bible, in contrast, teaches that man is born a sinner and that we are all sinners. Moreover, it teaches that sin is repugnant to God and so at the end of our earthly lives, He will cast us into hell, where He won’t have to put up with our sin any more.

God loves you in spite of yourself.

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
New American Standard Bible: 1995 update. (1995). (). La Habra, CA: The Lockman Foundation.
God loves you and has sent his ministers to help you. You are dead in your trespasses and sins and you aren’t even aware of it – we all are, except that God, out of His love, sent us a Saviour in Jesus Christ. God sees the terrible Day of Judgment coming, even if we do not, and also knows the outcome should you continue on the path you are on. Your presence here is no accident, the message you will hear today is no accident either – God, in His providence, put us together here so that you could hear His words to you – His Gospel.
