Church makes the gospel real
Not getting caught in the law
But seeking love from a good conscience, pure heart, sincere faith
Prayer
Leaders of good character who understand the importance of maintaining a good reputation for the Gospel
Hipsters
Honor of living for Jesus

1. The priority of the pastor is teaching people to live out of the Gospel.

The mystery of godliness is…
Train yourself in godliness (Ex. training on the treadmill)
So that the purpose of your life reflects getting people to understand what Jesus has accomplished. Speech that reflects the Gospel
Pray for your pastors and deacons

2. The example of the pastor with the congregation is to be an influence for the Gospel.

2 Timothy 2:20–22 ESV
Now in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver but also of wood and clay, some for honorable use, some for dishonorable. Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work. So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.
2 Timothy 2:20-
The pastor should be concerned about his example
The pastor should have people with him who together can show what the Gospel is about
righteousness [ small group examples] - kids
Faith - Tom
love - Thorntons
Peace - We seek to understand each other’s needs
Ella - group responsibility
No perfect person
Extreme ownership

3. Setting your priority on being an influence helps you and others be set apart for God’s work.

Ex. Tad/ Jeff
The process should be made a high priority
The process should be seen as saving
The challenge for us all - The honor of showing others the greatest treasure
Small group
My next step today is…
Commit to training in godliness
Commit to helping others grow
Small Group questions:
If you would explain the Gospel in 30 seconds to someone, what would you say (; )?
What does it mean to you to “live out the Gospel?”
At work? At home? (See passages like ; ; : 15-20)
Why does just making up a list of rules seem better or easier?
How can you train yourself to godliness this week?
What would you need prayer for?
What could your small group do to encourage each other this week as you all seek to live out the Gospel?
