Introduction
Greetings...

Teaching The Lost Requires Love
God loved us enough to teach us.
He gave us His Word written down and manifested in the Son.
Not only has God given us “His inspired/breathed out Word” () but He did it because He loves us which mean we should...
Love others enough to teach them.
We should love teaching others the gospel because God loved us enough to teach us the gospel.
The gospel is spread through human teaching of the mighty Word of God.
Rom 10:13-14
Therefore, the lost are only going to be saved “if” we go and teach them God’s Word.
Summery
Teaching the lost isn’t about eloquent speech or knowing everything in the Bible.
It’s about loving the lost soul enough to try and show them God’s Word.
Teaching The Lost Requires Tools
We need God’s Word
Once again it doesn’t matter how sliver tonged we are because it’s all about letting God’s Word do the work.
When teaching the lost it’s about “getting out of the way” and letting God talk through His Word.
This doesn’t mean we have “no influence at all.”
We should understand the Bible enough to explain it modern terms however, as Mr. Packer once wrote...
“Our business is to present the Christian faith clothed in modern terms, not to propagate modern thought clothed in Christian terms.
Confusion here is fatal.”
We need God’s unadulterated Word to teach the lost.
We need our mind.
We need to be able to see the opportunities around us and mentally be able to also make opportunities.
Ps
We need our mouth.
We need to be able to communicate with people.
Obviously if you can’t speak verbally you still “metaphorically” use your mouth through your hands.
The reality is no has ever taught the gospel to anyone without communicating with them.
We need our feet.
Feet, in that we need to be able to “go where they are.”
Summery
If we are missing any of our tools we will not be able to properly or effectively teach the lost.
It takes God’s Word, our mind, our mouth, and our feet to reach the lost…which means...
Teaching The Lost Requires Dedication
Many will never teach a lost soul the gospel.
They simply are not dedicated to it.
It’s not that opportunities don’t arise, it’s not that they are not capable, its because it simply isn’t a high priority.
Mt 13:4-
Friend’s family illustration.
Man obeyed the gospel only to find out the one who raised him had already obeyed the gospel but never once taught him the gospel.
He never knew she was a member of the Lord’s church and she never repented or came back.
We must be dedicated to the lost.
One simply cannot be “Christ-like” and not strive to “seek and save the lost.”
It isn’t possible.
Dedication to teaching the lost is almost completely based on planning, very rarely will we find “spontaneous” times to teach the gospel.
So how do we plan to teach the lost?
Very rarely will we find “spontaneous” times to teach the gospel.
So how do we plan to teach the lost?
First we set simple goals.
Pray everyday for someone you know well that is lost.
Make effort weekly to contact that person and invite them to services.
Ask them if they are interested in studying the Bible with you.
Second set more difficult goals.
Pray for the courage to meet someone new and get to know them.
Make effort weekly to contact that person, go to where they are.
Pray for the courage to ask them to come to services and for a Bible study.
When we look at our greatest example of dedication to the lost we need to look no further than Jesus Himself.
Whether it is Jesus boldly talking in the temple or by a well He was dedicated to the lost.

We must fight the good fight of faith (1 Timothy 6:12
Conclusion
“the salvation of a single soul is more important than the production or preservation of all the epics and tragedies in the world”
