But he that keepeth the law, happy is he.

These Filthy Dreamers-Vs 8
But he that keepeth the law, happy is he.
This is not speaking of having a vision for the future, but rather having a vision of God and His Word.
Thine own wickedness shall correct thee, and thy backslidings shall reprove thee: know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and bitter, that thou hast forsaken the Lord thy God, and that my fear is not in thee, saith the Lord God of hosts. 20 For of old time I have broken thy yoke, and burst thy bands; and thou saidst, I will not transgress; when upon every high hill and under every green tree thou wanderest, playing the harlot.
Thinking you don’t need God’s law to identify and avoid sin is a filthy dream
But chiefly them that walk after the flesh in the lust of uncleanness, and despise government. Presumptuous are they, selfwilled, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignities.
Presumptuous people presume too much of others opinions and of their own opinions.
But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness: they walked not in my statutes, and they despised my judgments, which if a man do, he shall even live in them; and my sabbaths they greatly polluted: then I said, I would pour out my fury upon them in the wilderness, to consume them.
13 But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness: they walked not in my statutes, and they despised my judgments, which if a man do, he shall even live in them; and my sabbaths they greatly polluted: then I said, I would pour out my fury upon them in the wilderness, to consume them.
Israel-God's law is not to be trifled with, and this present day notion that we are free to live as we wish because we are under grace is dangerous doctrines of demons.
These Filthy Dreamers-Vs 8
And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time. Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceivings while they feast with you; 14 Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children: 15 Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;
Ungodly-There are those who are more concerned with their own pleasure and feelings than the truth of God's law as presented in Scripture.
Ungodly-There are those who are more concerned with their own pleasure and feelings than the truth of God's law as presented in Scripture.
Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. 5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? 6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. 7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. 8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
Anti-christ-The spirit of anti-christ is in all of this lawlessness.

These Filthy Dreamers-Vs 8
Jude showed this level of aggression because the opponents were dangerous: they rejected the moral authority of the law and claimed to be able to use their special revelation to become the new judge of what was orthodox belief and behavior. However, the sinful fruit of their lifestyle revealed the error in their theology. They infiltrated the church, convincing people to listen to and follow their message.-Lexham Bible Dictionary

These Filthy Dreamers-Vs 8- Likewise connects these people and their philosophies with the Old testament. Jude is making a statement that either you stand with God and his family and be blessed or you abandon God and His family and be punished.

Defile the flesh
Despise dominion
Over all this is a reference to God as the ultimate authority.
All authority ultimately comes from God
Speak evil of dignities
Micheal-Vs 9
Disputed
And he shewed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the Lord, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him. 2 And the Lord said unto Satan, The Lord rebuke thee, O Satan; Even the Lord that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee: Is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?

Durst not
The Lord rebuke thee, O Satan;
Even the Lord that hath chosen Jerusalem rebuke thee:
Is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?
Durst not
Micheal wouldn’t slander the most evil one, but we have not problem with slander against earthly dominions and others.
But said
Let God do God’s job.
But These-Vs 10
Speak evil
What they know
They corrupt themselves
Woe unto them-Vs 11
The way of Cain- Cain is variously characterized as the prototypical sinner whether his vices be those of ungodliness, jealousy, envy, avarice, or egotism or whether he be viewed as a heretic who denies divine justice, defies cosmic order, and rejects the notion of future judgment -Earl J. Richard

And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the Lord. 4 And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the Lord had respect unto Abel and to his offering: 5 But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell. 6 And the Lord said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen? 7 If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him. 8 And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.
They had taken the way of Cain. There is little agreement as to what this means, but there are several possibilities:

The “way of Cain” is the way of religion without faith, righteousness based on character and good works.
This example takes us back to , where Cain appears at the altar without a blood sacrifice. The way of Cain is the way of man-made religion, rejecting the revelation of God and the blood of the Savior. See ; .

The way of Balaam-
the prophet Balaam, who is viewed as the personification of greed.

Once again later tradition sheds light on the allusion as it appears in Jude, because it underscores the envy and ambition of the rebellious Korah. Like the opponents (of Jude’s day) he caused a schism within the community (v. 19) by his challenge of divinely established authority and order (vv. 4, 6, 8) and by his “bombastic speech”-Earl J Richard
The “way of Balaam” is merchandising one’s gifts and ministry just for the purpose of making money. It is using the spiritual to gain the material (see ; ).

See . The error of Balaam involved leading others into sin for personal gain. Balaam knew the truth but deliberately led Israel into sin that he might make money. See , especially 25:1–9.

The way of Core
Now Korah, the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, and Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, and On, the son of Peleth, sons of Reuben, took men: 2 And they rose up before Moses, with certain of the children of Israel, two hundred and fifty princes of the assembly, famous in the congregation, men of renown: 3 And they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said unto them, Ye take too much upon you, seeing all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the Lord is among them: wherefore then lift ye up yourselves above the congregation of the Lord?
Concl.  But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness: they walked not in my statutes, and they despised my judgments, which if a man do, he shall even live in them; and my sabbaths they greatly polluted: then I said, I would pour out my fury upon them in the wilderness, to consume them.
The story of Core (Korah) is found in , and it too centers on rebellion against authority. Korah and his followers resented the leadership of Moses and dared God to do anything about their rebellion. In speaking against (“gainsaying”) Moses, they were speaking against the Lord who had given Moses his authority.

Read . Korah and his followers rejected the divine authority given to Moses and tried to assume power for themselves. False teachers promote themselves and override the authority of God’s servants. They will be judged, as were Korah and his followers.

Anti-christ-The spirit of anti-christ is in all of this lawlessness.
What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? 2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
Paul rejected this lawless thought process.
Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.
The law is not made void by salvation through grace. We are simply establish it for what it is a schoolmaster reminding us of our sin and need to repent.
What shall we say then? Is the law sin? God forbid. Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.
The idea that living lawfully is sin is foolishness perpetuated by the spirit of anti-christ in order to deceive us into living lawlessly.
It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father’s wife. 2 And ye are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he that hath done this deed might be taken away from among you. 3 For I verily, as absent in body, but present in spirit, have judged already, as though I were present, concerning him that hath so done this deed, 4 In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, 5 To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. 6 Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? 7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: 8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
The idea that sin should no longer be treated as sin simply because of grace is not biblical Christianity.
