Four Impelling Motives
There are four great impelling motives that move men to action: Fear, Hope, Faith, and Love—these four, but the greatest of these is Fear. Fear is first in order, first in force, first in fruit. Indeed, fear is “the beginning of wisdom.” Scripture summarizes the chief cause of sin and crime: “There is no fear of God before their eyes.”
—Prairie Overcomer
If fear is the beginning of wisdom and we all aspire to have it, why do we lack it when it comes to God? I believe we could learn a lot from our ancestors, Adam and Eve in their quest to be equal to God they fell short. However, we are following in their footsteps. We think we should be able to do whatever we choose, however we choose, whenever we choose, without any fear of consequences. This is especially true in our youthful days.
Thats why at the close of Solomon’s testament we get some wise advice. We need to remember our Creator in our youth. We have to serve God while we’re young and healthy and full of strength. Because the day is coming where we get older and weaker. Tragedy strikes, calamities happen and we get sick, frail and handicap and began to have regrets. We begin to wish we had done things differently.
He helps us to understand that all is vanity, meaningless, really of no value. We ought to enjoy the good God gives us but not to His neglect.
The teacher is wise and teaches the people knowledge, gives careful thought and researches information and takes his time to put all together so the people can get it.
He sought to find word that would bring a feeling of extreme pleasure or satisfaction. He taught morally the truth. The word of wise teachers are like the pointed instrument used to prod the cattle and livestock to stay on the right path. It both hurts and helps.
There is only one Shepherd who wise beyond our imagination and that is God and anything beyond His word, beware. Don’t neglect wise teaching and bog yourself down with studying all teachings you will find in this world.
So what are you doing to get your life on track?
Fearing God is the first step to getting your life on track.
Solomon gives two commands in this verse that will encourage us to get our lives on track.
Solomon gives two commands in this verse that will encourage us to get our lives on track.

Revering God is Fearing God

To fear God regard God with feelings of respect and reverence, consider hallowed or exalted or be in awe of.
You should have a feeling of respect for God.
Those whom respect we often are careful of what we say and do in their presence and absence.
You should exalt Him above everyone and everything.
Nothing or no one should be seen higher than our God.
You should be in awe of God, for both His good and His judgement.
This would suggest that we should not only respect and exalt Him, but those feelings should also provoke to some degree a sense of fear.
This is to say we can be in awe His greatness as He does the possible and impossible our lives.
But we should also be in awe of his ability to judge us in our disobedience. His wrath is greater than that of Sis. Earthy.
My mom used to threaten me when I was a teenager by telling me “one day I’m going to jump on you and it’s going to take some of everybody to get me off of you.”
Jesus showed us what it means to fear God as He always sought His Father’s will and always reminded other of the Word of God.

Fearing God Leads to Obeying God

To obey God is to conform one’s action or practice to that of His command.
You have to conform to His authoritative direction or instruction.
You have to conform your life to His word.
How does your life line up with the Word of God?
Have you been keeping His commandments?
Have been Holy?
Have you loved your fellowman?
Have you been faithful in your worship?
When was the last time you help someone without complaining or expecting something in return?
We have to fear God and keep his commandments.
This is the duty of every man, every woman, every boy and every girl.
No one is exempt from obeying God.
No one is exempt from keeping God’s commandments.

7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge;
fools despise wisdom and instruction.
They was a song a few years back that said
“Don’t wanna be a player no more”
I found
When we begin to obey God, it doesn’t mean we are to behave with self-satisfied arrogance of religious presumption, but rather a sign of humbly accepting what is to be human before God.
We are to fear and obey God!
He is the Great I am
I Am can be whatever you need Him to be.
When you obey Him
I Am will bless you
When you trust Him
I Am will protect and provide for you
When call on Him
I Am will hear you
When you humble yourself
I Am will exalt you
When you accept Him as Lord
I Am will save you
Anybody want to be saved today?
Anybody wanna get your life back on track?
You have to fear God
And when fear Him
You will obey His command
Are you ready
Are you ready
They was a song a few years back that said
“Don’t wanna be a player no more”
“I think I found someone”
“I could live my life for.”
You might not be a player,
But whatever you are
That you don’t wanna no more,
Just fill in the blank
I don’t wanna be that no more
I found someone
I think I can live my life for.
I came to Jesus
Just as I was
I was weary, worn and sad
I found in Him a resting place
And He has made me glad
