We Believe

There are at least 117 prophecies, appearances, or foreshadowings (PAF’s) of Christ in the Law, at least 144 in the Writings, and at least 153 in the Prophets. A minimal total for the entire Old Testament, therefore, is 414.
AS we begin our study of course we go to Isa 7
Isaiah 7:14 NKJV
Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.
A chaste woman of marriage age notice that it is from the Lord
To Mary
Luke 1:35 NKJV
And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God.
Holy one - sacred, morally pure, blameless!
Hebrews 2:14–18 NKJV
Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. For indeed He does not give aid to angels, but He does give aid to the seed of Abraham. Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.
Fully God and Fully man
Colossians 1:19 NKJV
For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell,
Colossians 2:9 NKJV
For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily;
Fullness - shipping term meaning “entirety” “whole sum” “totality” Everything is full and complete with nothing missing
In Eph Paul uses it to define his prayer and the goal of the Christian
Ephesians 3:19 NKJV
to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
Ephesians 4:13 NKJV
till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;
John 1:16 NKJV
And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace.
Because of the finished work of Christ, the believer is now endued with power from the Holy Spirit to overcome sin and exercise the ministry to which they have been called
Solomon asked an interesting question when he finished his temple:
1 Kings 8:27 says “Has it really pleased the Lord to cause His skekinah glory to dwell among men who live on the earth?
He could not imagine the presence of God in a building yet alone understand that a day would come when the servant of God would be indwelt
John 2:19–21 NKJV
Jesus answered and said to them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.” Then the Jews said, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will You raise it up in three days?” But He was speaking of the temple of His body.
1 Corinthians 6:19–20 NKJV
Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.
My friends just as the fullness of God was in Christ, so now the fullness of Christ is in you through the presence of the Holy Spirit!
1 Corinthians 2:4 NKJV
And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,
The word demonstration here is the same word meaning the great fullness of Divine working through the power of the Holy Spirit!
Ephesians 1:13–14 NKJV
In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.
Galatians 2:20 NKJV
I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
Because all authority has been given to Christ, and because Christ now dwells in you, you have authority to go and complete the mission which He has assigned to you!
Romans 8:31 NKJV
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
