Sermon Tone Analysis

You and I have important things that we need to be involved in if we are going to be obedient to our Heavenly Father and fulfill His purpose in our lives.

These are like the legs of a chair…if you are missing one, you may be able to keep things looking good for a while, but you can’t trust it.

The four legs of our Christian chair are the Bible, Prayer, Evangelism, and Submitting to the Will of God.

Now, Christ was the Word and last week we saw how that the need of our lives is an understanding and obedience to the Word of God.

Mark 1:21-34

We saw how that the people were amazed at Jesus Christ because He taught the Scriptures with Authority!

So, let me ask you again, how important is the Word of God to you and to your decision making process?

This has got to be one of the greatest failings among Christians that I can think of!

In , Christ said “ ถ้าแยกจากเราแล้วท่านจะทำสิ่งใดไม่ได้เลย / Without me ye can do nothing!”

But we want to try!

In the midst of great opportunities to heal and to teach and to gather a crowd together, Jesus went out to a place OUTSIDE the city so He could be alone and PRAY!

If Jesus needed to pray, so do we!

Think of this!!! Jesus, the Holy Son of God, PRAYED!

How arrogant for someone who claims to be a Christian and refuses to pray!

Or, believes that they do not need to pray.

The servant is not greater than his Lord!

If Jesus prayed, prayer is a good thing for us to do!

Do you want to know what you should do as a believer in Christ?

Pray!

Prayer is simple, but it is NOT easy!

This going out to pray was inconvenient: early instead of sleeping, alone instead of with others.

Prayer is, at its most basic sense, Asking and Receiving - Matthew 7:7-11

* But Prayer is also importunate/persistent!

I say unto you, Though he will not rise and give him, because he is his friend, yet because of his importunity he will rise and give him as many as he needeth.

Soccer/Football is simple to understand - kick the ball into the other net/goal; But that does not make it EASY!

Part of what makes prayer hard to do, is that Satan doesn’t want anyone to pray to God.

The main problem we have with prayer is OURSELVES!

we are lazy - You don’t want to get up early to be by yourself and God for prayer.

We are proud - We don’t want to have to admit we are weak and need help!

We have our own desires and we know we cannot take those to God because of how selfish they are!

ยากอบ 1:14-16 /

14 แต่ว่าทุกคนก็ถูกล่อลวง เมื่อตัณหาของตนเองชักนำให้กระทำผิด แล้วตัวก็กระทำตาม

Again, we come to something that I intend to remind us of again,

“If you are doing what you should be doing, you can’t be doing what you should not be doing.”

While we can’t stay alone praying, and niether did Christ, many of us don’t even bother to pray and we are left weak spiritually.

In Jesus curses Capernaum because of the hardness of their hearts and how they had seen so many good works and miracles performed there, yet they refused to trust Jesus Christ.

The disciples come to Jesus in the solitary place, because people in Capernaum were seeking Him, but Christ says, “Let us go to other towns and cities.”

Crowds of people were seeking Jesus, but Jesus knew that they were just interested in the miracles, not in what He had really come to do.

Many people, even Christians, are more อยากรู้อยากเห็น/curious about God rather than wanting to truly KNOW God.
