The Majesty of God

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.
Genesis 1:1 ESV
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.
Gen 1:1
I have often been told that is the start of the creation narrative. However, when I took the time to remove it from its place in the man made numbering system, I found that it takes on a much deeper and clearer meaning.
A simple sentence that’s packed with a great deal of power
I don’t mean to place it outside of the creation narrative, but to take this sentence and set it apart as a declaration, an affirmation and a statement not a simple sentence attached to the beginning of the general telling of what comes next.
First, we find
In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth is a verse that should have been set as its own chapter and verse. I do mean that it holds to itself. It does not need to have the creation narrative attached to it, to have the reader understand who God is.
I found that taking and isolating it allowed me to understand the majesty of of God.
This is an affirmation and not a simple sentence
