Winter In The Word A Passion for Praise #4 In the Grip of Guilt When I came up out of the waters of baptism, I was_______________________ #1 – Acts 2:36 “Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah.” 37 When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” 38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. 41 Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day. 42 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. Song #1 Oh Happy Day Glen Campbell Feelings and thoughts?_______________________________________________ #2 – Acts 5 Now a man named Ananias, together with his wife Sapphira, also sold a piece of property. 2 With his wife’s full knowledge he kept back part of the money for himself, but brought the rest and put it at the apostles’ feet. 3 Then Peter said, “Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit and have kept for yourself some of the money you received for the land? 4 Didn’t it belong to you before it was sold? And after it was sold, wasn’t the money at your disposal? What made you think of doing such a thing? You have not lied just to human beings but to God.” 5 When Ananias heard this, he fell down and died. And great fear seized all who heard what had happened. 6 Then some young men came forward, wrapped up his body, and carried him out and buried him. Song #2 Keith Green - My Eyes Are Dry (Lyrics) Feelings and thoughts?_______________________________________________ # 3 – 2 Corinthians 5: 14 For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. 15 And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:[a] The old has gone, the new is here! Song #3 Shadow and Light - Bruce Carroll Feelings and thoughts?_______________________________________________ Song #4 When My Love To Christ Grows Weak #4 –1 When my love to Christ grows weak,When for deeper faith I seek, Then in thought I go to thee, Garden of Gethsemane. 2 When my love for man grows weak, When for stronger faith I seek, Hill of Calvary, I go To the scenes of fear and woe. 3 There behold His agony, Suffered on the bitter tree; See His anguish, see His faith, Love triumphant still in death. 4 Then to life I turn again, Learning all the worth of pain, Learning all the might that lies In a full self-sacrifice. Feelings and thoughts?_______________________________________________ #5 – 2 Corinthians 7:8 If I caused you sorrow by my letter, I do not regret it. Though I did regret it—I see that my letter hurt you, but only for a little while— 9 yet now I am happy, not because you were made sorry, but because your sorrow led you to repentance. For you became sorrowful as God intended and so were not harmed in any way by us. 10 Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death. Song #5 Muppets - Candice Bergen - Put another log on the fire Feelings and thoughts?_______________________________________________ #6 – 1 John 1: 5 This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. 6 If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. 2:12 My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. 2 He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world. Song #6 Just As I Am - Glad Acapella Cover Feelings and thoughts?_______________________________________________ Salvation doesn’t come through always being right. Salvation comes through always being in relationship.
