“Humble Faith Produces Saintly Works”

Matt. 5:1-12

Grace mercy and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Our sermon text is the taken from our Gospel lesson today and we read verse five, “Blessed are the meek for they will inherit the earth.”

  1. What is a saint?  All saints have faith.  (a gift from God so no one can boast Eph 2:8-9)
  2. How do you become a saint?  3 miracles?  NO!  Matt 5: 3

Poor in Spirit>  Not from our power or pride or energy or any thing of ours!  But by emptying ourselves, dieing to self, humbling ourselves then we can become SAINTS.

3.  So then, we can do faithful service.

4.  Those who have gone before us, done with their faithful service waiting for the celebration of the King!

(necessary comment:  “my commitment” comes by God’s power, not my own.  My fulfillment of this commitment comes through God’s power.)
