According to Solomon the point of life is to fear God and keep His commandments.
Ecclesiastes 12:13 AV 1873
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
Ecclesiastes 12:13–14 AV 1873
13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. 14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
Ecclesiastes 12:12–14 AV 1873
12 And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh. 13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. 14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

And we can conclude that the commandments are to love God, love people.
Matthew 22:34–40 AV 1873
34 But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together. 35 Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying, 36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
Matthew 22:
And the great commission is the way in which we actively live out God’s commandments.
Matthew 28:18–20 AV 1873
18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Now we are starting to get somewhere.
The wisest man, (who pursued all the vanities of this life), tells you the point of life is to fear God and keep His commandments
Jesus, the God man, tells you what His commandments are
And He gives you the plan for actively living out those commandments
Do you think it would be wise to listen to Jesus and Solomon?
Here is a promise that I can make to you.
If you heed to this advice, then you will never wonder what your purpose is in life.
You will not have to doubt that your life has meaning and value.
You can live everyday knowing exactly what you are supposed to do.
If you actively pursue a life that demonstrates the great commandment and great commission, your life will be full of joy and peace.
Now that we have a baseline to work from
The only question you will have to answer is simply this.
What is the means by which God will accomplish this through my life?
In other words, according to scripture we all have the same purpose. We just need to figure out the plan in which it will be carried out.
You know that point, now how do you accomplish this personally?
God’s will for everyone is the same, the plan is totally different
We will start to answer these questions in the coming weeks.
