Christ’s Authority is evidenced by His power in His teaching, His power over demons, and His power over Physical ailments, things that people are battling to this day!

His authority was the direct result of the Scriptures – Vs.22

This is evidenced by the fact that they knew Who Jesus was! – Vs. 24,34

We are funny creatures! These Jews had been waiting for the Messiah to come; expecting the Messiah to come doing works and miracles and having this type of authority and when Jesus shows forth that kind of authority, they reject HIM!!!
The people were amazed because of Christ’s display of authority in their presence!

The reason many Christians today are not amazed is because His teaching, the Bible, is not authoritative in their lives!
What is your habit when it comes to the Word of God and the various ways you hear it (reading, listening, preaching and teaching)?
· Do you ignore it? – The full Belly Christians: Full of something else, so you don’t need Christ’s Word.
· Do you reject it? – The Fussy Eater Christian: The rebel Christian who has made a choice to reject what the Bible says about what they want to do.
· Do you consider the benefit of it? – The Buffet Christians: They pick what they like and leave what they don’t like…They are their own God deciding what is right and wrong for them.
· OR, Do you Accept it? – The Wise & Mature Christian who understands that God knows best and they consider how this passage, this sermon, this lesson, applies to their lives!!!
Christ has ALL POWER, in His teaching, over Demons, over sickness, and over death, then, why don’t we see a greater manifestation of His power in our world today? The answer is that He has delegated His Authority to His children and we have ignored His COMMANDS!!! this is not just for salvation, but for LIFE!!!

Whether you are a Christian or not, DON’T be more rebellious than the demons! They obeyed the commands of Christ!
Unbeliever: Trust Christ as Saviour! Let me take the Bible and show you what GOD says about salvation!
