“Did God Actually Say”

As we begin to look at how and where we are at God, the question here being asked by the serpent is really a great place to start. “Did God Actually Say” this or that, sounds like a trap, to begin with. Or it is something that you may hear from an attorney trying to get their client off the hook for something they did. We even try to ask ourselves the same question when we are debating whether an activity is ok for us to join in on.
The events of the fall are a great starting point for us if we are truly looking and searching for answers, truthfully that is. Attorneys look for every loophole they can find to account for someone’s activities. In truth, all humans do the same thing.

Looking at , many would say Eve sinned before Adam, or that Eve was the cause for Adam to sin, but is either of these true? Not really, Adam was charged with caring for the garden, and he fell short of his duties when the serpent entered and he did nothing. Adam fell short for his charge of caring for his wife, when the serpent tempted Eve, Adam should have stepped up and protected her. This is a situation where here in the south you say “man up” and Adam did not.

In our lives, how many times could heartache be avoided if we “man up” and do what is necessary in the beginning. Many times we say, what’s the harm, but never look down the road at the consequences. In this quest for truth, ask yourself, what have I allowed to creep into my garden? What temptations am I allowing in my life, my family and circle of influence? What we surround ourselves with answers a lot of questions about ourself.

This is easier said than done. Temptation is not an ugly thing. The temptation of sin is always going to look good. If we saw sin for what it was, we would not do it. If we saw where it truly led us we would not follow. This is why we have to be in God’s word so that we can truly evaluate all situations.

How often are we led of the path by someone we know? I would venture to answer this by saying quite often. However, I would pose this question to you: How often do we blame others when we made the decision to move forward with an action. But isn’t that the case most of the time, it is easier to blame others than answer the question and accept responsibility for our actions.

Everyone likes to take credit when things go good. No one likes to stand up and take blame when something derails. It is much easier to say someone gave me, or someone tricked me. But being truthful, is the answer a little closer to home? Did you want to be something that maybe your not, or have something that you don’t have. That is the bottom line in most sin or disobedience.

Here is a truth about God, He knows all things. He knows our thoughts, actions, and word before we do. There is nothing that we will do that can surprise him in any way. is all about how God knows us. He created us and He knew us before we were born. He knows the hair on our head and how we will react to any stimuli or circumstance. This is why we have to be truthful with ourselves.

We can’t blame others or make excuses, because God knows. If you truthfully seek to know where you are with God, first understand that God knows all your sin. You need to realize them and seek forgiveness. See we failed God, He didn’t fail us. He doesn’t make things to hard for us, we just chose to take the path that is the hardest to follow. But He knows this, and all that you really have to do is ask for His help. He is willing to search your heart and show you where you need cleaning. But for Him to do any Good with you, you have to submit to His authority. You have to realize that you are a sinner, You have to admit this sin, and repent (other words, turn for it) and submit you His authority. God can do great things in your life and with your life. But you have something to do first, have Faith.
