The Right Fight

2 Corinthians 10:7 KJV 1900
7 Do ye look on things after the outward appearance? If any man trust to himself that he is Christ’s, let him of himself think this again, that, as he is Christ’s, even so are we Christ’s.

How do you see things?

What a question Paul ask. He has just told the Corinthian church about the unseen yet real battle that rages all around us. Most people live there lives unaware of this everyday fight. Yet the battle rages on.

Why do we fight?

How can people look at the same issue, the same evidence and the same effect and come to differing or even opposing opinions. The challenge is simple we all see life though lenses.
Life’s lenses
++Our past
++Our prejudice
++Our politics
++Our pain
The Fight we choose is connected
++Our activity
++Our reality
++Our perception
++Our opinion
If witnessing is seen as difficult
++We will not witness
++We will be satisfied
++We will be at ease

But God is calling for more

Today God want to change our perspective.

Life is hard

But in the midst of life’s difficulties
++There is a living God
++There is a loving God
++There is a life giving God
John 10:10 KJV 1900
10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
There is a promise
++Of life in the midst of difficulty
++Abundance in a time of loss
++Hope in a time of despair
2 Corinthians 4:7–10 KJV 1900
7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us. 8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; 9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; 10 Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.
We have
++A possession
++A treasure
God has given us
++A Sword
++An Advantage
++The Power of God
We are
++Troubled
++Perplexed
++Persecuted
No matter
++How it looks
++What we see

We are fully equipped

2 Corinthians 10:3–6 KJV 1900
3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; 6 And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

Dealing with a bully.

1 Samuel 17:41–43 KJV 1900
41 And the Philistine came on and drew near unto David; and the man that bare the shield went before him. 42 And when the Philistine looked about, and saw David, he disdained him: for he was but a youth, and ruddy, and of a fair countenance. 43 And the Philistine said unto David, Am I a dog, that thou comest to me with staves? And the Philistine cursed David by his gods.

There has always been bullies.

It is something we try
++To minimize
++To eliminate
++To curtail

There is no political answer to the nature of a bully.

David had something
++Not visble
++Cursed by the world

He look unprepared on outside

1 Samuel 17:45 KJV 1900
45 Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.
We have
++An Advantage
++A Relationship
Ephesians 6:12 KJV 1900
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
What is the Right Fight?
++Honor the call of God
++Fulfill the will of God
++Serve the Lord
