Psalm 1 NKJV
Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the Lord, And in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper. The ungodly are not so, But are like the chaff which the wind drives away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, But the way of the ungodly shall perish.
Psalm 1
Welcome Guests - At the end of the message it is our churches practice to give God the opportunity to minister to us with His Spirit. Many of us gather to the front, some remain in our seats. You are welcome to join us at the front or remain in your seat but be sure to allow God an opportunity to minister to you before you leave.
Time spent in Louisiana at my Grandparents farm.
I noticed some things about my Pawpaw. He never rushed anywhere. He walked intently but patiently to whatever he was doing. I never woke any morning in their home where they were hurrying so that the day could begin. There were things that needed to be done. But it was never rushed.
He was a farmer. Have you ever noticed farmers are never in a hurry? They understand what many of us miss. Seasons can be slow. There is a season for planting. A season for growing, and a season for harvest. There is a season for letting the ground rest.
Cannot rush the season. Cannot force the season to change. Only God controls the season.
Ecclesiastes 3:1 NKJV
To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven:

Leviticus 26:2–5 NKJV
You shall keep My Sabbaths and reverence My sanctuary: I am the Lord. ‘If you walk in My statutes and keep My commandments, and perform them, then I will give you rain in its season, the land shall yield its produce, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit. Your threshing shall last till the time of vintage, and the vintage shall last till the time of sowing; you shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely.

One season does not determine your life

Life has many seasons.
Breaking up the soil - back breaking struggle with the land.
Sowing - working to get the seed into the prepared soil.
Growing - this season often seems like waiting. Let the rain and the sun do some work.
Harvest - Enjoying the fruit that is produced.
Only one season is the part that is enjoyed. All of the rest of the seasons is about getting to the harvest.

Seasons change

Where you are right now is not where you will be forever. Your season is going to change. What are you doing in this season to be ready for the next one?
Galatians 6:
Galatians 6:7–9 NKJV
Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
You may be in a season of struggle right now. But it will not always be so. The season is going to change.
This is what you need to understand. The power of God at work in our lives can often be associated with struggle… pain… suffering… trials… adversity.
Jacob when he left wrestling with the angel of the Lord he limped. It was permanent and with him for the rest of his life. He limped because he had come in contact with the power of God. His season had changed and God changed his name from Jacob to Israel. But first he struggled with the angel and following he was marked with a limp.
Just know that when God truly uses a person that blessing is most often born out of adversity. The good things of God come out of tough seasons.
Before He takes you high, He takes you low.
Before victory there will always be a battle.
Before sunrise there is a night to endure.
Before a resurrection there is a hill to be climbed and a cross to be carried.
That season is going to change. The struggle you endure now, when the season changes will bring with it the sweet fruit of a harvest.
God takes us through isolations. He takes us through struggles. He takes us through sicknesses. He takes us through places that it looks like we have been forsaken.
When God takes you to the promised land first He takes you through the desert.
It won’t always be a desert. The season is going to change. The struggle you endure now, when the season changes will bring with it the sweet fruit of a harvest.

Why? Why does God do this?

Some seasons are so we become enemy proof. So the devil cannot steal from us what God intends for us to have.
Some seasons are so we are less impressed with the flesh and hunger for spiritual things.
Some seasons are so we are further separated from the world and the things of the world that hold us back.
Call for altar music.

David

One season David was an isolated shepherd boy protecting the sheep from bears and lions.
The next season he was a giant killer. A mighty warrior - Saul has killed thousands, David has killed tens of thousands.
Leviticus 26:
In his next season he was a fugitive cave dweller trying to survive. In the very next season he was a King.
The season is changing.

Ruth

One season Ruth was a wife and daughter in law. Next season she was a widow working the fields of wheat for survival. The next season she owned the field she had been at work in.
The season is changing.

Elijah

In one season he was surviving because a widow and her son fed him.
The next season he is calling down fire from heaven at Mt. Carmel.
The season is changing.

Paul

Cannot judge a person by their season.
In one season as Saul he persecuted the church. In the next season as Paul he promoted it.
Seasons change. Your season is changing.

Galatians 6:7-
Whatever season you find your self in… Frustrated… Isolated… Struggling… Enduring adversity… Your season is going to change.
John 3:5 NKJV
Jesus answered, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.
How to be born of the water and the Spirit?
John 3:5
Acts 2:38 NKJV
Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Believe, Repent, be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit speaking in other tongues, a language you do not know as the Spirit gives the utterance.
