 THE SPIRITUAL MAN

                                Sunday, October 22, 2000

Text :  Col. 1:9

             I Peter 2:5

Spiritual – Filled and governed by the Spirit of God

(Colossians 1:9 AV)

 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;

(1 Peter 2:5 AV)Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.

The question Why are we not spiritual.

                There is a Spiritual:

1.                    Walk

Enoch, Noah, Abraham.

2.                    Work

Noah.

3.                    War

Aaron and Hur Out of 6 million people.

We don’t know what it means.

The Spiritual Man:

1.                    He is Stable

For I long to see you, that I may impart unto you some spiritual gift, to the end ye may be established; (Romans 1:11 AV)

2.                    He is Scriptural

For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin. (Romans 7:14 AV)

3.                    He is Sensible

Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. (1 Corinthians 2:13 AV)

4.                    He is Sober

But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. (1 Corinthians 2:15 AV

5.                    He is sympathetic

Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. (Galatians 6:1 AV)
