“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
Matthew 5:
What does it mean to be the light of the world?
How important is light in our world today?
Without light there would be no sight
the rods and cones in our eyes catch light and transmit information to the brain of the image we see
What does it mean that we are the Light of the world?
Give sight to people by revealing Jesus
Give the ability to see dangerous choices that lead to a destructive life

We are called to live a life of showing
we reveal Jesus in our conduct
in our interactions
in our speech
in our actions
in our thoughts
There are no Spy Christians
we are not undercover
we don’t hide
we proclaim
we live bold

We shine....for the GLORY of GOD
He is worthy to be praised
He is worthy of our worship
He is worthy of all the glory
Is God’s glory dependent on you?
No -
He answered, “I tell you, if these were silent, the very stones would cry out.”

We do bring glory to God for our joy, to fulfill what we were made to do
we are like the moon
we reflect the light from the Son
we don’t create our own we show His
How can I shine for Christ this week at school? at home? amongst my friends? to my parents or guardians?
How can I keep myself accountable to this task?
