POSSESSING YOUR POSSESSIONS IN 2019
There are possession waiting for us in 2019 and we must therefore prepare ourselves to possess these possessions. The book of Joshua is a book that speaks of victory after victory for the people of God. There is no captivity in Joshua. The Children of Israel can be seen as a victorious people, marching to the Promised Land, conquering every opposing nation on their way. God was constantly moving with them. His presence shielded and protected them. What a blessed time. As we move to 2019, I pray that we will experience extraordinary victory. As the Bible tells us in , “All these things happened unto them for examples: they are written for our learning.” That means we can apply the truths found in these stories to ourselves in the 21st century.
God has given Christians victory through our Lord Jesus Christ; Free justification through our Lord Jesus Christ; Joy through our Lord Jesus Christ; Grace through our Lord Jesus Christ; Eternal life through our Lord Jesus Christ; Victory through our Lord Jesus Christ (); Promise of the Spirit through our Lord Jesus Christ; There is no reason for us to fail as we advance into the New Year.

In 2019 there shall be deliverance; And the children of God shall possess their possessions. The land that God promised Israel in this passage is very large. Right now, Israel possesses only a small fraction of the total Promised Land, some say 18%. But the full territory shall be ultimately controlled by the Messiah during the Millennium (; ; ). God is angry at the nations who scattered Israel among the nations and have shared His land among themselves. He has decreed that He will bring them all to the valley of Jehoshaphat and judge them there. God will not allow anyone to take your possessions from you in the coming year! Canaan is a land of victory and a land of freedom; Freedom from bondage; Freedom from slavery. Your possessions in 2019 are for you and no one will take it from you. As God released Israel from slavery, God will release you from any form bondage in 2019 in Jesus name. You will not be a slave to sin (); You will be set free indeed (). You will not be a servant of sin in 2019 (,).
There shall be refreshment and rest for you in 2019 (). Israel came into physical possession of the Promised Land according to the promise of God (). Every blessing that belongs to you in 2019 is already there before you get there!

There are great promises we see here that we can plead.
(i) Promise of Conquering Power – no one will be able to conquer you in 2019. You need to stay on course; ready to fight in the battles of life. The Great Shepherd is with us (). God is able to give us 365 days of victory in 2019. The first 31 days will be for prayer and fasting and solemn assembly. God does not say that there will be no battles to fight, but that no one will be able to defeat us!
(ii) Promise of Continuing Presence (; ; ). God said He will never leave us nor forsake us. As He told Moses in , His Presence shall go into the New year with us (). As God was with Moses, as God was with Joshua, so He is with us today. He promised that He will be with us when we are together in Church. He will be with us when we gather together to pray, or to hear His word. He will be with us when we reach out to those who do not yet know Him. I we meet with any obstacles, He will be with us ().

: When God gives us a task, He will want us to prepare. So New Year means New tasks. It means renewal of vows made – to live for God and to serve Him. It means renewal of obedience. We have obeyed the word of God in the past, we renew our determination to obey His word now. So,
(i) Prepare to be strong against every current of opposition.
(ii) Prepare to be courageous against every strong enemy that you may face. The enemy may challenge in 2019 but be courageous. Behind every command of God, there is omnipotent power of God to carry out that command (1Sam.45-47). It is not by might no by power but by my Spirit saith the Lord ()
(iii) Prepare to observe the commandments (). The Bible is our guide book. It is the word of God what we read there is true, and we are to obey the instructions contained in it throughout this coming year. This book shall be with us and we shall read it every day of the new year; not only shall we read it but we shall do all that is written for us therein! We ponder the word of God; and we practice the word of God. So, shall we be prosperous! So, shall we achieve good success!
Listen to what the Lord Jesus says in , my first revelation of wonderful word of God. Those who obey what the Lord commands have this firm promise that He will dwell with them in 2019. Have you received the call of Christ to Salvation? Have you responded to and ? Victory belongs to those who hear the word of God and obey it. Be saved now. Give your life to Christ now.
In conclusion, what God did to Israel as they went on their way to the Promised Land God is able to do for us as we go into 2019.
As He delivered Israel from Egyptian bondage with a strong Hand, He will deliver us from every bondage with His mighty Hand.
As He parted the Red Sea and created a highway through the sea for Israel to pass through, He will make a way for us where there seems to be no way in 2019.
As He led Israel through the wilderness by the Pillar of Fire and Pillar of Cloud, tokens of Presence, His presence will go with us in 2019
As He smote great kings and slew famous kings to advance Israel into the Promised Land, so shall He fight our battles and overcome our enemies in 2019.
As Joshua obeyed the book of the Law and observed all that is written therein, and achieved remarkable successes, so shall we obey the word of God and achieve great victories.
As Joshua declared towards the end of his ministry, that not one promised of God failed, even so shall it be with us. Not one promise of God concerning us shall fail in 2019!
