2:10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid! Listen carefully, for I proclaim to you good news that brings great joy to all the people: 2:11 Today your Savior is born in the city of David. He is Christ the Lord.

We love these verses and how they are Christmasy. But how does this practically change our lives today? We know that Jesus has come to save us, but what does that mean for us men today, 12/26/18? First lets look at some verses that are non typical showing us that this was God’s plan all along, and that we are apart. We must remember that this news, that Jesus came to save all peoples, was a strange and foreign thought to the original hears. It was supposed to be Israel’s Messiah, and Israel was God’s only people.

The NET Bible Chapter 2

2:32 a light,

for revelation to the Gentiles,

and for glory to your people Israel.”

2:11 “Many nations will join themselves to the LORD on the day of salvation, and they will also be my people. Indeed, I will settle in the midst of you all.” Then you will know that the LORD who rules over all has sent me to you. 2:12 The LORD will take possession of Judah as his portion in the holy land and he will choose Jerusalem once again. 2:13 Be silent in the LORD’s presence, all people everywhere, for he is being moved to action in his holy dwelling place.

The LORD who rules over all says, ‘In those days ten people from all languages and nations will grasp hold of—indeed, grab—the robe of one Jew and say, “Let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.” ’ ”

19:24 At that time Israel will be the third member of the group, along with Egypt and Assyria, and will be a recipient of blessing in the earth. 19:25 The LORD who commands armies will pronounce a blessing over the earth, saying, “Blessed be my people, Egypt, and the work of my hands, Assyria, and my special possession, Israel!”

he says, “Is it too insignificant a task for you to be my servant, to reestablish the tribes of Jacob, and restore the remnant of Israel? I will make you a light to the nations, so you can bring my deliverance to the remote regions of the earth.”

Therefore remember that formerly you, the Gentiles in the flesh—who are called “uncircumcision” by the so-called “circumcision” that is performed on the body by human hands—2:12 that you were at that time without the Messiah, alienated from the citizenship of Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. 2:13 But now in Christ Jesus you who used to be far away have been brought near by the blood of Christ. 2:14 For he is our peace, the one who made both groups into one and who destroyed the middle wall of partition, the hostility,

2:9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people of his own, so that you may proclaim the virtues of the one who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. 2:10 You once were not a people, but now you are God’s people. You were shown no mercy, but now you have received mercy.
2:11 Dear friends, I urge you as foreigners and exiles to keep away from fleshly desires that do battle against the soul, 2:12 and maintain good conduct among the non-Christians, so that though they now malign you as wrongdoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God when he appears.

So Let us remember our purpose in this plan of God giving us peace. That we would be get rid of the desires that are not pleasing to God, and that through our conduct both actions and words, other non believes would come to know of the peace that is offered to all by Christ the Savior of all Peoples.
