I Am Changing

Kidz World Today - Children’s Church
Romans 12:1–2 The Message
1 So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. 2 Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.
Confession of Faith
I am not moved by what I see or by what I feel. I am moved by what I believe. I believe the WORD of God! The victory is mine! I have it now! I can see it through the eyes of my faith!
The New Year brings change in many areas of our life! We make resolution to change, do things, different, start new chapters in our life, reset and refresh!
Where Do I Start?
When something in your life represents real failure or just some big mistake you’ve made - you ask yourself can I change?
God is a God of Change and Transformation
Romans 12:1 NKJV
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.
God is a God of Change and Transformation
Romans 12:1 NLT
1 And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all he has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice—the kind he will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship him.
Romans 12:1 The Message
1 So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him.
Present your body to God.
The dedication... • is not to be made to yourself: living as you wishes; doing your own thing.
This offering of your body• is not to be made to others: living for family, wife, husband, child, parent, mistress, companion, sexual partner, or employer.
This offering of your body • is not to be to something else: houses, lands, property, money, cars, possessions, profession, recreation, retirement, luxury, power, recognition, fame.
1 Corinthians 6:20 NLT
20 for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body.
The Pain of Change
In an article in the Forbes Magazine
it says: People naturally resist change. In fact, to the human brain, change is pain.
When new external stimuli/Information enters the brain, it is automatically compared to existing knowledge. If the new stimuli/information is consistent with what the brain already knows, there’s no problem. But if they conflict with existing knowledge, the brain’s alarm system turns on – likely as a survival mechanism.
You detect an error
Your brain’s natural error detection system turns on!
Regions of the brain that are connected to its emotional center (the Amygdala) are activated and drain limited mental resources from the area of the brain associated with rational thought (the Prefrontal Cortex).
As a result, Change causes us to act more emotionally and impulsively and not rationally.
Prov
Proverbs 3:5–6 NKJV
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
Therefore, Change overwhelms our our working memory and deplete its resources – a very tiring process.
Proverbs 23:7 NKJV
7 For as he thinks in his heart, so is he. “Eat and drink!” he says to you, But his heart is not with you.
Romans 12:2 NKJV
2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Romans 12:2 The Message
2 Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.
2 Corinthians 4:18 NKJV
18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
2 Corinthians 4:18 The Message
18 There’s far more here than meets the eye. The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But the things we can’t see now will last forever.
