*If the foundations are destroyed, What can the righteous do? *
* Ps.11:1-3
1~/6~/08 a.m.*
*If the foundations are destroyed, What can the righteous do? *
* *
As I go through my daily life I become more and more concerned with what I see happening around me in our lives as Christians, in our homes, in our churches, in our schools, in our society, in our judicial system, our government, and our leadership.
*In our lives as Christians I see; *
pride, selfishness, greed, lust, profanity, fornication, adultery, unforgiveness, indebtedness, hatred, a lack of concern
Could it be that we have allowed the foundations of our lives as Christians to be destroyed?
Could it be that we place very little importance on the things of God?
*In our homes I see;*
strife, contention, wrath, divorce, insecurity, abandonment, abuse,
a lack of compassion
Could it be that we have allowed the foundations of our homes to be destroyed?
Could it be that Christ isn’t the Head of our homes?
*In our churches I see; *
self righteousness, partiality, worldliness, abominations, lies, heresies, jealously
Could it be that we have allowed the foundations of our churches to be destroyed?
Could it be that the main goal of the church isn’t to glorify God?
*In our schools I see; *
violence, disrespect, sexual promiscuity, disorder, unruliness, ignorance
Could it be that we have allowed the foundations of our schools to be destroyed?
Could it be that we no longer ask God for instruction & or use His manual?
*In our society I see;*
idolatry, perversion, immorality, depravity, evil, endorsement of all that is godless, drugs, murder, theft, harassment, meanness, cruelty
Could it be that we have allowed the foundations of our society to be destroyed?
Could it be that we have removed God from the public square?
*In our judicial system I see;*
rampant lawlessness
Could it be that we have allowed the foundations of our judicial system to be destroyed?
Could it be that we don’t use Gods’ judgments anymore?
*In our government I see; *
deception, corruption, waste, a lack of wisdom
Could it be that we have allowed the foundations of our government to be destroyed?
Could it be that we no longer acknowledge the governing principles of God?
*And our leadership I see;*
godlessness, spinelessness, cowardice, falsehood, weakness
Could it be that we have allowed the foundations of our leadership to be destroyed?
Could it be that we choose godless leaders?
*Could it be that we have allowed our foundations in these areas to be destroyed?
*
* Col 1:18*
18 And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that *in all things He may have the preeminence.*
* *
*4409 - Preeminence – *to be first in rank or influence
*Ps 11:1-3*
1 In the Lord I put my trust; How can you say to my soul,
“Flee /as/ a bird to your mountain”?
2 For look! The wicked bend /their/ bow,
They make ready their arrow on the string,
That they may shoot 1secretly at the upright in heart.
3 *If the foundations are destroyed, *
* What can the righteous do? *
Here we have the attacks and evils of the unrighteous toward the righteous.
* *
The unrighteous try to intimidate, insult, frighten and harm the righteous.
* *
They decide on a course, make their plans, and underhandedly, deceptively, and cruelly target the upright in heart.
* *
*And if we allow our foundations to be changed, altered, or removed what will we do, what can we do and how would we do it?*
*This question God has put to us* applies to the whole of our lives, spiritually, physically morally, socially, and financially.
For the Word of God completely covers these areas of our lives as well as every nook and cranny of our being both publicly, privately, both as a society and as individuals including our intentions, our thoughts, our words, and our actions.
*The Psalmist says this about these people that work unrighteousness.*
