Jesus is the Son Of the Most High God.

Jesus is the Son of God. This makes him great.
28 And coming in, he said to her, “Greetings, favored one! The Lord is with you.”
God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world. And He is the radiance of His glory and the exact representation of His nature, and upholds all things by the word of His power. When He had made purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become as much better than the angels, as He has inherited a more excellent name than they.
For to which of the angels did He ever say,
“You are My Son, Today I have begotten You”?
And again,
The Angel Gabriel came to Mary to announce the most important message that could be given. This is interesting because he is coming to the most unlikely person to give the message. Mary is a teenage girl that is engaged to be married to Joseph. There is nothing worldly that would qualify her for such an important message.
“I will be a Father to Him And He shall be a Son to Me”?
What makes her special is that she is favored by God. She was favored by God for her humbleness. We see that when she was addressed as favored by God and that He was with her, she was perplexed.

God has spoken to us through His Son

God has always spoken to his creation by many means. In the Old Testament He spoke through angels, vision, burning bushes, dreams and prophets. They proclaimed the coming of the Messiah. Jesus is the Messiah and is providing the way for eternal life. God brought the gospel through His Son Jesus Christ. God has provided a way of Salvation through His Son Jesus Christ. Jesus did many miracles such as: Feed the thousands, heal the sick, cast out demons, walk on water, calm the storm, taught with great authority. However the greatest thing that He did was die a death we were suppose to die, be resurrected from the dead, and now sits at the right hand of His Father.
God has testified twice that Jesus is his son.
16 After being baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened, and [i]he saw the Spirit of God descending as a dove and[j]lighting on Him, 17 and behold, a voice out of the heavens said, “This is [k]My beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased.”
While he was still speaking, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and behold, a voice out of the cloud said, “This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased; listen to Him!”
Jesus bring the greatest message that has ever been given. IT IS THE GOSPEL!

He is the radiance of His Glory and exact representation of His nature

If you want to know God, all you have to do is look at the life of Jesus. Jesus did what his Father did, thought what His Father thought, and loved the way God loves. Jesus personified God in every aspect of his being. so much so that He told His disciples that looking at Him they see the Father.
Philip *said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.”Jesus *said to him, “Have I been so long with you, and yet you have not come to know Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? 10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on My own initiative, but the Father abiding in Me does His works. 11 Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father is in Me; otherwise believe because of the works themselves.

Jesus upholds all things by the word of His power.

Jesus knows all things and is in control of all things. I don’t quite understand how Jesus as a baby could maintain control of all things. However, I see evidence of it.
13 Now when they had gone, behold, an angel of the Lord *appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, “Get up! Take the Child and His mother and flee to Egypt, and remain there until I tell you; for Herod is going to search for the Child to destroy Him.”
14 So [f]Joseph got up and took the Child and His mother while it was still night, and left for Egypt. 15 He [g]remained there until the death of Herod. This was to fulfill what had been spoken by the Lord through the prophet: “Out of Egypt I called My Son.”
When Jesus was most vulnerable as a child, He was able to communicate through His Angel to move out of harms way.

The Lord Will Give Him the Throne of His Father David

“Now therefore, thus you shall say to My servant David, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts, “I took you from the pasture, from following the sheep, to be ruler over My people Israel. I have been with you wherever you have gone and have cut off all your enemies from before you; and I will make you a great name, like the names of the great men who are on the earth. 10 I will also appoint a place for My people Israel and will plant them, that they may live in their own place and not be disturbed again, nor will the wicked afflict them any more as formerly, 11 even from the day that I commanded judges to be over My people Israel; and I will give you rest from all your enemies. The Lord also declares to you that the Lord will make a house for you. 12 When your days are complete and you lie down with your fathers, I will raise up your descendant after you, who will come forth from you, and I will establish his kingdom.13 He shall build a house for My name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever.

The Lord will establish His kingdom through Christ

God promises to prepare a place for His people. This is a place that the wicked will not afflict the righteous. There will be rest in the kingdom of God. There will be a house for all the inhabitants of God’s Kingdom. Jesus will be the king forever in this kingdom. This sounds a lot like heaven.
And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.”
This is the rest that God refers to.
And He who sits on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” And He *said, “Write, for these words are faithful and true.” Then He said to me, “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of the water of life without cost. He who overcomes will inherit these things, and I will be his God and he will be My son. But for the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”
This is the enemies being defeated and not affecting us any longer.
22 I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. 23 And the city has no need of the sun or of the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God has illumined it, and its lamp is the Lamb. 24 The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it. 25 In the daytime (for there will be no night there) its gates will never be closed; 26 and they will bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it; 27 and nothing unclean, and no one who practices abomination and lying, shall ever come into it, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.
This is Jesus taking the throne forever and ever.

Jesus Is Holy

The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; and for that reason the holy Child shall be called the Son of God.

35 The angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; and for that reason the holy Child shall be called the Son of God.

Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit. This is vitally important because this means that He has no sin. Ever since creation all people born have inherited sin.
12 Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned—
All men conceived of a natural man and woman have inherited sin and therefore have condemnation
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Jesus is without sin. This means that He can be a sacrifice for our sin. Only a sacrifice without blemish is acceptable to the Lord. This means that only a sinless person is acceptable.
For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin.
Jesus ,being the perfect lamb of God, laid down his own life to pay the death penalty for our sin.
24 For Christ did not enter a holy place made with hands, a mere copy of the true one, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us; 25 nor was it that He would offer Himself often, as the high priest enters the holy place year by year with blood that is not his own. 26 Otherwise, He would have needed to suffer often since the foundation of the world; but now once at the consummation of the ages He has been manifested to put away sin [c]by the sacrifice of Himself. 27 And inasmuch as it is [d]appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment, 28 so Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time for salvation without reference to sin, to those who eagerly await Him.
Have you received this gift that God has given you? If not, you can receive salvation through Jesus Christ this morning!
