What if you didn’t believe?

What would your life look like if you didn’t know that Jesus came, died, and came back to life?
How would you treat people?
Would you care about them? Why would you care about them?
Would you be worried about death?
Would you be scared about sickness, rape, pain, war, tragedies?
How different is that imagined person then the person you are?
How has the Gospel changed you?
How has understanding Jesus made a difference in your life?
How do you look, feel, act, care, love differently because you know what God has done for you?
Are you different? Are you changed?
Is your life-blood, goal, fire, pushing, motivation different than what it was before you knew Jesus are your Lord and King?

The Christian Motivation

When we think about the depths of the sacrifice of what God has done for us it should change our lives.
Knowing the Gospel give you a new motivation for life
Not money, not sex, not power, not intimacy, not happiness, not memories, not feeling like you belong, not having your needs met, not fulfilling your desires from this world.
Your new motivation is not about you anymore, it is about Jesus.
Reasons why you will Go. 1) He commanded you. 2) The New Self wants it. 3) You will be pushed. 4) You are designed for heartbreak and joy.

1. He commanded you.

— 18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
ALL the authority is telling Christians to go!
The Holy Bible: English Standard Version. (2016). (). Wheaton, IL: Crossway Bibles.
it doesn’t get any higher up the food chain. There is no more of a pinnacle.
The last thing the most important person in the world has to say is “GO! Go everywhere, to everyone!”

2. The New Self wants it.

16 For if I preach the gospel, I have no reason to boast, because I am compelled to preach—and woe to me if I do not preach the gospel

— 16 For if I preach the gospel, I have no reason to boast, because I am compelled to preach—and woe to me if I do not preach the gospel
I am a Christian which means I hate sin and love God.
I hate when I fail. I love when God’s grace carries me to succeed.
I long to be called a good and faithful servant. Which means that I need to do what I am supposed to do. I need to fulfill the ministry that God has given me to do. ()
The Holy Spirit creates a desire in me to do something that matters for eternity.
If you don’t have that, pray for it.
It can be strong and it can weaken. We need the Holy Spirit to sustain us.

3. You are designed for heartbreak and joy.

You are designed for heartbreak: Your fleshy heart will feel the pain
Christian Standard Bible. (2017). (). Nashville, TN: Holman Bible Publishers.
( — 26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will remove your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. 27 I will place my Spirit within you and cause you to follow my statutes and carefully observe my ordinances.)
Christian Standard Bible. (2017). (). Nashville, TN: Holman Bible Publishers.
You have friends and family that are heading for hell.
You have people that you love and they don’t know Jesus.
You stare people in the face everyday very very soon those same people will be thrown into hell because they don’t believe that Jesus is the King.
and how are they going to find out about the joy in Jesus? ( — 14 How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? 15 And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”)
You are designed for heartbreak because a broken heart will strive to help rescue those who need salvation.
In the same way you are designed for joy.— It is sorrow here that will lead to eternal joy
If you are not broken hearted for people then you wont talk to them.
It is sorrow here that will lead to eternal joy
If God has not worked in you and broken your heart for all the souls that are going to hell then you will not love them and weep for them.
But if you are weeping for them. If you are concerned for them. If you are different then you were before you were saved and you acutally care about others, then God can use you to accomplish great things.
those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy!
I shouted with joy yesterday when I saw a woman accept Jesus as her Lord.
But, I arrived in that moment when God broke my heart for her lostness.
God broke me and although i didn’t physically weep, my concern by the power of the Holy Spirit is what moved me to show her love in Jesus.
“You have nothing to do but save souls. So spend and be spent in this work” - John Wesley
The Holy Bible: English Standard Version. (2016). (). Wheaton, IL: Crossway Bibles.
Be spent. Everything. Give up everything to Go.
Every relationship. Every fear. Every thought. Every piece of energy should involve this idea: Go.
Are you Going? Does your mission read: “Go”?
Are you changed by the Word of God, by the power of the Holy Spirit, for the glory of God the father that you will commit to doing nothing else but saving souls?
The Christian that commits to that, stays committed by relying on the power of God, will hear their loved Jesus say to them “well done, my good and faithful servant.”
