And there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon; and this man was righteous and devout, looking for the consolation of Israel; and the Holy Spirit was upon him.

And there was a prophetess, Anna the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was advanced in years and had lived with her husband seven years after her marriage,
and then as a widow to the age of eighty-four. She never left the temple, serving night and day with fastings and prayers.

We truly begin to live by faith when we come to understand, there is no other option.
When we look inside we recognize that our greatest need isn’t things of this world, but reconciliation with God.

Like water to a thirsting man, God’s grace is EXACTLY what satisfies.
Jesus didn’t come to make our journey through life more comfortable, He came to make our Eternity secure!
What God has done through Christ is enough!

When we understand what God has done through Jesus Christ, we simply rely upon that alone.

And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Christ.
Simeon knew God’s promises regarding His Messiah.

We have our trip in a few month’s planned out. We know where we need to be at each step of the trip.
Simeon knew the promises because he studied God’s Word.

Like the child waiting for Christmas morning so must we be with eager anticipation and great hope.
He was quite literally living his life for this moment!
