The Coming Day Of the Lord

As we come close to the end of the epistles written by Peter, we see that Peter, like Paul, writes to remind and empower the Gentiles…us. The purposes of these letters is to remind, strengthen, and prayerfully correct our behavior, for the coming day of our Lord and Savior.
We read :-9...
3 Know this first of all, that in the last days mockers will come with their mocking, following after their own lusts,
4 and saying, “Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation.”
5 For when they maintain this, it escapes their notice that by the word of God the heavens existed long ago and the earth was formed out of water and by water,
6 through which the world at that time was destroyed, being flooded with water.
7 But by His word the present heavens and earth are being reserved for fire, kept for the day of judgment and destruction of ungodly men.
8 But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day.
9 The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.
Peter says First in verse 3-6…First of all...so, here it comes...
- Mockers will follow their own lusts asking when is the day of JESUS’ coming? Where is HIS promise, trying to dissuade the believers from holding onto the promises made by JESUS. They forget that from the beginning of time, the Word of GOD…JESUS…created all that we see and have...
They have closed their minds to the truth.

As said in To Him who spread out the earth above the waters,
For His lovingkindness is everlasting;
And it was destroyed by water and reformed from water. Genesis
Verses 7...But it is being reserved for fire…the day of judgement.
...“Truly I say to you, it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city.

just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities around them, since they in the same way as these indulged in gross immorality and went after strange flesh, are exhibited as an dexample in undergoing the punishment of eternal fire.

Verse 8-9…One day with GOD is not as our days for 1 day is a thousand years and vice versa.
Our Father is patient with us so we can come to him…... This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
... ‘But I have this against you, that you tolerate the woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, and she teaches and leads My bond-servants astray so that they commit acts of immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols. ‘I gave her time to repent, and she does not want to repent of her immorality.

We are afforded grace and mercy by our Father, HE sacrificed HIS son for us, and allows us to ask for forgiveness when we mess up...
