James uses and interesting term when speaking about it.
He uses the term ROYAL
Another way of saying this: If you really fulfill the “KINGDOM LAW.”
Jesus’ central message was about his new Kingdom.
We have been delivered from the KINGDOM of darkness, and We are now in the Kingdom of God.
You cannot enjoy the benefits of a governing system if you are unwilling to keep its laws.
If you break the laws that govern its people, you are considered a “lawbreaker” and receive the penalty associated with breaking that law.
Since we have ONLY ONE LAW as kingdom citizens, it would be in our best interest to KEEP the law of love, IF we expect to enjoy the benefits of this citizenship.
Defining the Love of God
agapē, generally assumed to mean moral goodwill which proceeds from esteem, principle, or duty, rather than attraction or charm.
Agapē means to love the undeserving, despite disappointment and rejection;
the difference between agapaō and phileō is difficult to sustain in all passages.
Agapē is especially appropriate for religious love.
The verb agapaō was frequent in the Greek OT.
Though agapē has more to do with moral principle than with inclination or liking, it never means the cold religious kindness shown from duty alone, as scriptural examples abundantly prove.
Agapē is called out of one’s heart by the preciousness of the object loved.
It is a love of esteem, of evaluation.
It has the idea of prizing.
It is the noblest word for love in the Greek language.
Agapē is not kindled by the merit or worth of its object, but it originates in its own God-given nature.
God is love.
Agape delights in giving
Agape keeps on loving even when the loved one is unresponsive, unkind, unlovable, and unworthy.
It is unconditional love.
Agapē desires only the good of the one loved.
It is a consuming passion for the well-being of others
This love keeps on loving even when the loved one is unresponsive, unkind, unlovable, and unworthy.
It is unconditional love.
It is used approximately three hundred and twenty times in the New Testament.
