1 Samuel 18:
1 Samuel 18:1–5 NKJV
1 Now when he had finished speaking to Saul, the soul of Jonathan was knit to the soul of David, and Jonathan loved him as his own soul. 2 Saul took him that day, and would not let him go home to his father’s house anymore. 3 Then Jonathan and David made a covenant, because he loved him as his own soul. 4 And Jonathan took off the robe that was on him and gave it to David, with his armor, even to his sword and his bow and his belt. 5 So David went out wherever Saul sent him, and behaved wisely. And Saul set him over the men of war, and he was accepted in the sight of all the people and also in the sight of Saul’s servants.
Matthew 12:46–50 NLT
46 As Jesus was speaking to the crowd, his mother and brothers stood outside, asking to speak to him. 47 Someone told Jesus, “Your mother and your brothers are standing outside, and they want to speak to you.” 48 Jesus asked, “Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?” 49 Then he pointed to his disciples and said, “Look, these are my mother and brothers. 50 Anyone who does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother!”
Matthew 12:46 NLT

Matthew
Luke 8:19–21 NLT
19 Then Jesus’ mother and brothers came to see him, but they couldn’t get to him because of the crowd. 20 Someone told Jesus, “Your mother and your brothers are standing outside, and they want to see you.” 21 Jesus replied, “My mother and my brothers are all those who hear God’s word and obey it.”
Lk 8:19-21
We Not Friends We family
The IVP New Testament Commentary Series: Matthew Jesus’ True Family (12:46–50)

When we acknowledge God as our Father, his family becomes our family, and our allegiance to him as Father must come before all earthly allegiances.

The IVP New Testament Commentary Series: Matthew Jesus’ True Family (12:46–50)

From this we learn both the importance of obedience and the futility of depending on other means of access to Jesus. Those who suppose they have some natural claim on the kingdom have no claim on it at all. But those who obey God’s will for themselves have an intimate relationship with Jesus and can depend on him the way members of his immediate family can

Words Like Love, Hate, Friend & Family are words that can be used and defined differently by each one of us in this room due to the underline circumstances we have experienced in Life.
David for the first time in his life was shown Love from a Brother but it wasn’t his natural brother and he had many of those it was from his Kingdom Brother.
Jonathan Was knit with the soul of David, Jonathan loved him as his own soul.
But the next verse is an evident token that it was real love..
verse 4 And Jonathan stripped himself of the robe that was upon him, and gave it to David, and his garments, even to his sword, and to his bow, and to his girdle.
4 And Jonathan stripped himself of the robe that was upon him, and gave it to David, and his garments, even to his sword, and to his bow, and to his girdle
Anytime your next in line for the throne and you run into someone greater than you, and you are humble enough to step aside, strip your royal garbs off and sow it into some one greater thats kingdom Love
See theirs no competition in the kingdom.. As a matter of fact the only person your competing with is your-self.
2 Key Points To Remember: From David & Jesus
If we going to be brothers & sisters we must have a spiritual Connection..
(you have to possess the right spirit)
b. Fulfilling Gods Will & Obeying Him is required & our allegiance to him as Father must come before all earthly allegiances.

Therefore who & what God loves i love and who and what God hates I hate..
Therefore who & what God loves i love and who and what God hates I hate..
And there is a thin line between Love & Hate
I like folk that i don’t love
I love folk I don’t like
Proverbs 6:16–19 KJV 1900
16 These six things doth the Lord hate: Yea, seven are an abomination unto him: 17 A proud look, a lying tongue, And hands that shed innocent blood, 18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, Feet that be swift in running to mischief, 19 A false witness that speaketh lies, And he that soweth discord among brethren.

The Only Way You can Deal With A trouble Maker is through Conflict & Confrontation
Wait You mean we shouldn’t pray on it??
Galatians 2:9–14 NLT
9 In fact, James, Peter, and John, who were known as pillars of the church, recognized the gift God had given me, and they accepted Barnabas and me as their co-workers. They encouraged us to keep preaching to the Gentiles, while they continued their work with the Jews. 10 Their only suggestion was that we keep on helping the poor, which I have always been eager to do. 11 But when Peter came to Antioch, I had to oppose him to his face, for what he did was very wrong. 12 When he first arrived, he ate with the Gentile believers, who were not circumcised. But afterward, when some friends of James came, Peter wouldn’t eat with the Gentiles anymore. He was afraid of criticism from these people who insisted on the necessity of circumcision. 13 As a result, other Jewish believers followed Peter’s hypocrisy, and even Barnabas was led astray by their hypocrisy. 14 When I saw that they were not following the truth of the gospel message, I said to Peter in front of all the others, “Since you, a Jew by birth, have discarded the Jewish laws and are living like a Gentile, why are you now trying to make these Gentiles follow the Jewish traditions?

Tell Your Neighbor Conflict and Confrontation
Galatians 2:10
2 Peter 2:10–14 NLT
10 He is especially hard on those who follow their own twisted sexual desire, and who despise authority. These people are proud and arrogant, daring even to scoff at supernatural beings without so much as trembling. 11 But the angels, who are far greater in power and strength, do not dare to bring from the Lord a charge of blasphemy against those supernatural beings. 12 These false teachers are like unthinking animals, creatures of instinct, born to be caught and destroyed. They scoff at things they do not understand, and like animals, they will be destroyed. 13 Their destruction is their reward for the harm they have done. They love to indulge in evil pleasures in broad daylight. They are a disgrace and a stain among you. They delight in deception even as they eat with you in your fellowship meals. 14 They commit adultery with their eyes, and their desire for sin is never satisfied. They lure unstable people into sin, and they are well trained in greed. They live under God’s curse.
The Message Chapter 2

Peter regularly ate with the non-Jews. But when that conservative group came from Jerusalem, he cautiously pulled back and put as much distance as he could manage between himself and his non-Jewish friends.

2 Peter 2:10-
The Message Chapter 2

That’s how fearful he was of the conservative Jewish clique that’s been pushing the old system of circumcision. Unfortunately, the rest of the Jews in the Antioch church joined in that hypocrisy so that even Barnabas was swept along in the charade.

The Message Chapter 2

But when I saw that they were not maintaining a steady, straight course according to the Message, I spoke up to Peter in front of them all:

But when I saw that their conduct was not in step with the truth of the gospel

This is the last time:
Tell Your Neighbor, and if you tired of telling them stuff sit next to a better looking neighbor next time..
Tell Them because we family please pull my coat when my conduct is not in step with the Gospel..
But The question has to be when should i pull your coat?
Public or Private

15 “Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother. 16 But if he will not hear, take with you one or two more, that ‘by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.’ 17 And if he refuses to hear them, tell it to the church. But if he refuses even to hear the church, let him be to you like a heathen and a tax collector.

This scripture does not apply to our text because the sin wasn’t against him as an individual this was against the gospel.. And it was done publicly..
And if he allowed those folks to go home without addressing it they would have assumed Paul was also in on the out of step Conduct..
After all it was nothing but family, no outsiders no unbelievers just family..
After all it was nothing but family, not outsiders no unbelievers just family..
family falls Out,
Family disagrees,
But Who is Gods family????

Final Point:
Who do You Resemble In the Family?
2 Kings 2:13-15

13 He also took up the mantle of Elijah that had fallen from him, and went back and stood by the bank of the Jordan. 14 Then he took the mantle of Elijah that had fallen from him, and struck the water, and said, “Where is the LORD God of Elijah?” And when he also had struck the water, it was divided this way and that; and Elisha crossed over.

15 Now when the sons of the prophets who were from Jericho saw him, they said, “The spirit of Elijah rests on Elisha.”

1 Chronicles 11:10–19 GW
10 Now, these were the commanders of David’s fighting men, who exercised power with him in his kingdom, and with all Israel they made him king according to the Lord’s word to Israel. 11 The first of David’s fighting men was Jashobeam, son of Hachmon, the leader of the three. He used his spear to kill 300 men on one occasion. 12 Next in rank to him was Eleazar, another one of the three fighting men. He was the son of Dodo and grandson of Aho. 13 Eleazar was with David at Pas Dammim when the Philistines gathered there for battle. There was a field of ripe barley. When the troops fled from the Philistines, 14 they stood in the middle of the field and defended it by killing Philistines. So the Lord saved ⌊them⌋ with an impressive victory. 15 Once three of the thirty leading men went down to David’s rock at the cave of Adullam when the army of the Philistines was camping in the valley of Rephaim. 16 While David was in the fortified camp, Philistine troops were in Bethlehem. 17 David was thirsty and said, “I wish I could have a drink of water from the cistern at the city gate of Bethlehem.” 18 So the three burst into the Philistine camp and drew water from the cistern. They brought it to David, but he refused to drink it. He poured it out ⌊as an offering⌋ to the Lord 19 and said, “It’s unthinkable that I would do this, God. Should I drink the blood of these men who risked their lives? They had to risk their lives to get this water.” So he refused to drink it. These are the things which the three fighting men did.
1 Chronicles 11:10 NLT
10 These are the leaders of David’s mighty warriors. Together with all Israel, they decided to make David their king, just as the Lord had promised concerning Israel.
1 Chronicles 11:20–25 GW
20 Joab’s brother Abishai was the leader of the thirty. He used his spear to kill 300 men, but he was not one of the three, 21 although he was honored more than they were. So he became their captain but didn’t become a member of the three. 22 Benaiah, son of Jehoiada, was from Kabzeel and was a brave man who did many things. He killed two distinguished soldiers from Moab. He also went into a cistern and killed a lion on the day it snowed. 23 He killed an eight-foot-tall Egyptian. The Egyptian had a spear like a weaver’s beam in his hand. But Benaiah went to him with a club, grabbed the spear away from him, and killed him with it. 24 These are the things that Benaiah, son of Jehoiada, did. He was as famous as the three fighting men. 25 He was honored more than the thirty, but he was not a member of the three. David put him in charge of his bodyguards.
