Very often when we think of leadership, we think of being the boss.
Everyone at some point loves to boss around others.
Through watching my daughter and many kids around the playground you can see kids bossing other kids around.
We all love being the boss at times.
The bottom line though, is being the boss is not what true leadership is about.
Leadership is not bossing people around and telling everyone else what to do.
True leadership is living out the life that God has planned for you and living it out with passion, with love for others and with a servants heart.
A true leader will care about others at work, at school and in their personal lives.
True leaders care that those they are leading are growing.
Great leaders just truly care about those they are leading.
Some here may be thinking, “That all sounds great, and when I become a leader I will care about those I lead.”
The truth is that you are leading now!
You are not tomorrow’s leaders, you are a leader today!
You are not tomorrow’s church, you are the church today!
Let’s take a look at what scripture says about you and I being leaders.
Jesus points out that the leaders of the Gentiles use their position to gain power and control.
To be the “boss.”
Christ then quickly points out that with His followers (you and I,) it must not be that way.
Christ points out that if His followers are to become great we are to be servants.

A pastor, an overseer or a leader in the church.
v. 6

This does not mean that you must be perfect.
This means that if accusations are brought against you that they must not be found true.
“husband of one wife”
being faithful to your spouse.
“having faithful children”
Leadership begins in your home.
