The Cup
The Cup Provider
Good morning everyone and welcome to this place. We are going to start a new series this morning and if you can’t tell by the décor, it called the Cup. So, what so special about cups, well they are all throughout Scripture and they are always figurative in nature. For example, in it talks about the cup we all just shared in by taking communion and remember to be thankful for the Lord and His sacrifice. It says, READ
Pray
So, there are all kinds of cups out there, plastic cups, glass ones, stone ones and there are cups for different purposes. There are probably just as many cup styles as there are people. So, what is your cup? Jesus even had his cup in His life. He was uniquely created, born of both the Spirit and Flesh. He had a purpose on this earth, to spread the Good News and He had a purpose with the cross, to finish His saving work for each one of us. Even though His flesh wanted the cup to pass, He remained true to the Purpose of God and found satisfaction in that cup He drank. The cup is a representation of our vessel, or the Spirit and its purpose. Each one of us has the Spirit of life within us and when we come to the Lord each one of us accepts the Spirit to come upon us and give us our purpose. Conclusion:
And I don’t know about you, but I love being at peace, especially in the storms. I know that I am well cared for in the Lord, because He has created my cup for a purpose in this life. He created me to fulfill this purpose and to be filled with that purpose. He did so by creating me unique and personally. He did not make me by accident but on purpose to fulfill a purpose. And my purpose is unique to me. God has a job for me to do, right now it is to be right here and in this moment with you, what is your purpose, what was your cup made to do in this world. Because when I fill it with the Lord’s will and purpose I find peace and satisfaction beyond understanding. I want my ways to be His ways and I want my purpose to be His purpose because when I do, watch out world because nothing can stop us, and nothing can keep us from being who He has made you and I to be.
