Believe or not Believe that is the question

Are you a believer
are you an unbeliever
Are you a unbelieving believer
Mark 10:17–24 NIV
17 As Jesus started on his way, a man ran up to him and fell on his knees before him. “Good teacher,” he asked, “what must I do to inherit eternal life?” 18 “Why do you call me good?” Jesus answered. “No one is good—except God alone. 19 You know the commandments: ‘You shall not murder, you shall not commit adultery, you shall not steal, you shall not give false testimony, you shall not defraud, honor your father and mother.’” 20 “Teacher,” he declared, “all these I have kept since I was a boy.” 21 Jesus looked at him and loved him. “One thing you lack,” he said. “Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me.” 22 At this the man’s face fell. He went away sad, because he had great wealth. 23 Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, “How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God!” 24 The disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus said again, “Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God!
Mark 10:17-
I know this sounds like double dutch, but the kIngdom of God needs us to step up and be a believing believer.
To live in a way that backs up our faith.
We are not going to get it right 100% of the time.
Lets step into everything God has for us.
God is real His love is real, and His grace is real.
He prepares a place for me in the presence of my enemies
To be an unbelieving believer
Is when we don’t look to God for our help but live in defeat and overcome by the situations that we find ourselves in.
Stop looking to others to solve your problems, the Good Shepherd Jesus is here to strengthen, uphold you to lead you.
God has His goodness for us - while we are in the trial
He blesses us despite our enemies breathing down our neck.
What is your enemy is it the accuser, is it anxiousness, is it the enemy that tells you you are not good enough, you are not enough, your looks hold you back, is your enemy in the mirror saying these things.
Jesus is here today and says He The Good Shepherd is enough.
He says you are enough, stop listening to the lies of your past, of the opinions of others and begin to listen to the truth of God’s word. His word the bible is not condemning or legalistic or heavy, it is light, it is bright, it is truth not enshrouded with opinion. It has life, it washes us, it reveals Christ himself who is the way the truth and the life.
Enemy no not today, Devil no not today.
Jesus yes to today. You are my Peace my shelter, me Good Shepherd.
Stop looking to others to solve your problems, the Good Shepherd Jesus is here to strengthen, uphold you to lead you.
Its time to allow Him to lead you,
The Word of God was written to give life, yes it was to give understanding but ultimately it was written to reveal the life of Christ in us,
Gods love for our lives is not based on our behaviour it is based on the finished work of Christ.
He died in our place for us, taking on our sin, he paid the penalty for us.
Now we are free in him.
Lets face we are never going to get our behaviour right and as soon as we do, or we think that we do, we become self righteous instead of Christ righteous.
To be an unbelieving believer:
The rich young ruler believe and followed the law the commandments.
But he found himself totally reliant on his riches, his circumstances those things that filled the void of Christ.
He was a self made man, maybe he inherited his wealth but it took the place of Christ.
Christ has called us to live in obedience. Not by following rules. Everyone can do that for a time.
The thing is that Jesus gets to the heart of the matter. Someone being rich was an example of being self at the throne of our own like.
Jesus is to be worship and obeyed. If we are to follow Christ we live a life of surrender.
So what does it mean to be a believing believer
