Introduction

Greetings...
Just about everyone in the world is searching for peace.
Advertisements about how to find peace are everyone on billboards, the radio, t.v., and all over the internet.
Yet there is only one true source of real peace and that is God and His Word.
Isaiah 26:3 ESV
3 You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.
Since the Christian dispensation Christians have a unique peace that no other generation has ever had.
Today I want us to consider “Three Facts of Christian Peace.”

Peace With God

Sinners have no peace in their lives.

The life of sin, though pleasurable for a moment (), is sustainable and only brings pain and death.
It separates us from God.
Isaiah 59:1–2 ESV
1 Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save, or his ear dull, that it cannot hear; 2 but your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not hear.
It destroys our conscience.
1 Timothy 4:2 ESV
2 through the insincerity of liars whose consciences are seared,
It will eventually abandon our souls in hell.
Romans 6:23 ESV
23 For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Rom 3:
There is no peace in a life of sin.

Sinners who repent find peace in their lives.

The life of sin brings pain and death but the life of a repented soul brings peace and life.
Christ draws us closer to God by cleansing and purify us.
James 4:8 ESV
8 Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
Christ delivers peace for the Christian instead of being at war with God.
Matthew 11:28–30 ESV
28 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

Summery

The one that goes from living apart from God in sin to finding God and being justified through the blood of Christ “finds peace with God.” He is no longer at war with God but is at peace with God.
The reason Christians have peace “with God” is because they have the “peace of God.”

The Peace Of God

The peace of God is a life free from anxiety.

This isn’t to suggest that their will never be anxiety in our lives but that it can be removed with God.
Concerning anxiety we find God telling His children...
Don’t be anxious about your physical needs.
Matthew 6:25 ESV
25 “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
Matthew 6:33 ESV
33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.
Anxiety can’t help you live a single hour longer.
Luke 12:25 ESV
25 And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?
Lk 12:
Therefore, don’t be anxious about anything, and if you are...
Philippians 4:6 ESV
6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
1 Peter 5:7 ESV
7 casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.

Summery

When a person obeys the gospel and finds peace with God they then have the opportunity to free themselves of their anxieties through the peace of God by way of prayer and supplication by casting their anxieties on God.
As the hymn “Wonderful Peace” states, “What a treasure I have in this wonderful peace.”

The God Of Peace

The God of peace will be with those that find peace in Him.

When we have peace with God and then find the peace of God we will discover “The God of Peace” is with us.
The God of peace is with all those that have learned from His Word and are practicing it.
Philippians 4:9 ESV
9 What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.
Psalm 119:165 ESV
165 Great peace have those who love your law; nothing can make them stumble.

Summery

Brothers and sisters “Trust and obey, for there is no other way to be happy in Jesus but to trust and obey.”

Conclusion

When God’s creation obeys His will and repents and is washed clean of their sins by the blood of Christ () they find peace with God.
When they are at peace with God it is only then they can be at peace with the peace of God () and having loved the law () the God of Peace is with them ().
H
Remember , the verse we read in the very beginning...
Isaiah 26:3 ESV
3 You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.
Let’s no look at the next verse that completes this thought.
Isaiah 26:4 ESV
4 Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.
