What is sexual sin?

How makes one particular act of sex different from another?

How ar 2 people different from other 2 people?

Sex is not evil - let us just remove that taboo.

Sex is God given for our enjoymnet, and the drive to have sex isalso God given.

God first command to Adam and Eve was go forth and multiply, thats not doing mathamatics its refering to ....

Sex is given by God for us to enjoy witrh boundries.

These boundries are not to ruin our fun but to protect us.

Sex wthin God’s boundries is totally harmless, 100% risk free and actually incredible healthy and good.

Sex outside of God’s boumndries is incredibly dangerous, destructive, often result in deseas, death and the murder of innocftent babies.

So sexual sin, is simply sex oytside of God’s boundries.

God designed sex to be a consentual acts between a husband and wife.

- Its that simnple -

anything outside this boundry is sexual immorality and is the result of the sinful desire of the heart.

Jesus said:

There are many different types of sexual sin, rangiung from common to extreeme.

The more extremes examples, whiuch we will n ot cover in this sermon are:

Pedophilia - the sexual attraction to chiildren.

Necrophillia - the sexual atrtraction to dead bodies.

Incest - the sexual attraction to close family

Beatiality - the sexual attraction to animals.

While ther are extreeme they are not all that uncommon at all.

The more “main stream” sexual sins we will look at are:

Fornication - Sex outside of marriage

Adultry - sexual unfaithfulness within marriage

Lust - The desire to be intimate with strangers

Homosexuality - the sexual attraction to people of the same sex.

Let us begin by looking at offencevness of any sexual sin.

1: It defiles the sinner.

Sexual sin, does not leave anyone feeling good and satisfied p- you feel dirty and ashamed.

2: It defiles society

Sexual sin lowers the moral standard of entire nations.

3: It offends other people.

To be a holy person in this day is no joke, the sexulisation od EVERYTHING i disgusting.

Want to seel a car - put a sexy woman in it, want to sell a razor - put a shirtless man next to it, want to sell a bottle of oros?

Put a half nakes woman drinking it.

look at almolst any picturre in a clothing shop and look how provocative they all stand, with their mouths half open like dogs smelling other dogs - its absolutly disgusting.

4: It offends God.

The fcat that as Christians we should seek to please God, means that we cannot get tangled in that which displeases him.

The Judgment

Sexual sin, not only has future ramifications, but is deadly right here and now.

1: Fornication

Fornication is the ost common form of seaxual sin.

Sex outside of marriage.

Casual sex, Friends with benifits.

Or the usal, “but he said he loved me” line.

Notice that in the bible 23000 people died as a resulty of fornication - God’s judgment was servere.

Clearly for those people, fornication was not fun.

But what do the statistics say?

Is Fod just out to ruin people ffun, or is there a ligitimate reason why he commands us abstain?

Not on ly is it deadly but 15% of all woman who practice casual sex develop PID (Pelvic Inflamatory Disorder) which causes them to become infertile and never be able to have children and start a family.

Then there is the devestation of abortion.

3000 abortion each day.

Spound of abortion.

Less than 0,05% of abortion are as a rwsult of rape.

Most are simply because peopple dont want to cancle their vodancom accounts.

2: Adultry

55% of male respondents cheated on their spouse with five or more people

50% of our female respondents admitted to cheating with one person

32% of the men met the person they cheated with online (either through social media or a dating service)

22% of the women met the person they cheated with in some sort of social setting (bar, party) or had a previous romantic connection to that person

23% of the men said the leading cause of the affair was due to a lack of sexual satisfaction

28% of the women said the cause of the affair was due to a lack of emotional satisfaction

40% of Marriages Fail after an affair.

3: Lust

By lusti mean looking at a person with feelings of sexual fantasy.

The biggest cause of lust today is Pornography.

In March of 2002, Rick Warren's Pastors.com

website conducted a survey on porn use.

Of the 1,351 pastors who responded, 54% of them had viewed internet pornography within the last year, and 30% of these pastors had visited a porn site within the last 30 days.

In September of 2003, 34% of the female readers of Today's Christian Woman's online newsletter admitted to intentionally accessing internet porn.

In his 2006 book, "Men's Secret Wars," Patrick Means revealed the results of a confidential survey of evangelical pastors and church lay leaders.

64% of these Christian leaders confirmed that they were struggling with sexual addiction or sexual compulsion including, but not limited to, the use of pornography, compulsive self sex, or other secret sexual activity.

A poll taken by XXXChurch and reported by CNN in April of 2007 revealed that 70% of Christians struggle with porn in their daily lives.

According to a 2010 article published by Focus on the Family, more than 45% of Christians admit that pornography is a major problem in their home.

A recent study co-published by the Family Research Council in Washington D.C. and the Marriage and Religion Institute (MARRI) calls pornography a "quiet family killer" and states that 56% of divorces involve one party having an obsessive interest in porn.

In fact, internet pornography has now surpassed financial problems as being the fastest growing cause of divorce in America.

One researcher indicated that 70% of men 18-34 years old visit a pornographic website in a typical month.

There is lso a terrible physical danger to porn - 90% of all men to look at porn of a regular bases get OD, the inability to enjoy sex with their wife, only throiugh self pleasure.

4: Homosexuality

Does God hate gays?

Or is God’s command there to protect us from harm?

Let a homosexual tell you:

A Lifestyle of death, when you look at the dangers and misery and pain of fornication, adultrt, lust and homosexuality - and you see God telling us NOT to engage these things, it almost looks like God is trying to spare us so much agony.

God’s Call for Purity

What id God’s will for you life?

I know one thing: God’s will is that you have nothing to do with sexual immorality.

What if you ignore this?

Well if you ignore God’s command - then God will ignore your requests.

What is the key to living a holy life?

Knowing how to possess your vessel.

Self-control.

Its amazing how many people think they can controll other people yet cannot control themselves.

- Sexual immorality is not a lifesyle that needs to be changed - it is a sin that needs to be mortified.

How do we mortify the sin of sexual immorality?

How will we walk in holiness and purity?
