2. A child-centered home, by definition, is one where the child believes and is allowed to behave as though the entire household, parents, siblings, and pets exist for one purpose—to please him.
Here are some things the child does because he believes this:
• interrupts adults when they are talking
• uses manipulation and rebellion to get his way
• dictates the family schedule (meals, bedtime, etc.)
• takes precedence over needs of spouse
• has an equal or an overriding vote in decisions
• demands excessive time and attention
• escapes the consequences of sinful and irresponsible behavior
• speaks to parents as peers
• is the dominant influence in the home
• is entertained and coddled out of c mood
