Dan Spader in “Walking as Jesus Walked” said,
Focusing on the methods Jesus requires asking a new set of questions.
How did Jesus share His message?
How did He identify, train, and send His disciples?
How did Jesus interact with us? Jesus announced His coming and stated the reason He came.
Salvation,

Is this church family growing you to be a disciple of Jesus Christ?

Jesus announced His coming

John 1:6–13 NIV
There was a man sent from God whose name was John. He came as a witness to testify concerning that light, so that through him all might believe. He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light. The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.
John 1:9–13 NIV
The true light that gives light to everyone was coming into the world. He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him. Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.
Jesus announced His coming. He sent John to testify to the true light of Jesus so that people would believe.
He didn’t just show up, he sent John ahead to “prepare the way.” Today we have numerous was to communicate our message. Our building communicates, our church communicates, our programs communicate.
In addition to the message Jesus Christ spoke, His methods add to His revelation.
He revealed truth.
In addition to the message Jesus Christ spoke, His methods add to His revelation.
John puts the order of message first model second. Jesus methods are the real source of illumination. His method included an obedience to the Father that supported His message. When Jesus stood before Pilate and claimed to testify to the truth, Pilate rejected the truth.
“You are a king, then!” said Pilate. Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. In fact, the reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth. Everyone on the side of truth listens to me.” “What is truth?” retorted Pilate. With this he went out again to the Jews gathered there and said, “I find no basis for a charge against him.” (, NIV)
His Message added understanding to the truth.
Repent
Lay treasure in heaven
Lay treasure in Heaven
Seek the kingdom first and His righteousness
Live out mercy rather than sacrifice
Give up our life for the life in Christ “Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. Whoever does not take up their cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Whoever finds their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life for my sake will find it.” (, NIV)
Serve as Christ servedJesus answered, “It is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.’”” (, NIV)

John 1:
John 1:35–39 NIV
The next day John was there again with two of his disciples. When he saw Jesus passing by, he said, “Look, the Lamb of God!” When the two disciples heard him say this, they followed Jesus. Turning around, Jesus saw them following and asked, “What do you want?” They said, “Rabbi” (which means “Teacher”), “where are you staying?” “Come,” he replied, “and you will see.” So they went and saw where he was staying, and they spent that day with him. It was about four in the afternoon.
A good question is redemptive.
True light: The real source of illumination.
What do you want?
First, an explanation of what Jesus did, how the world reacted to His truth, and what Jesus did for those who believed.
Where are you staying?
He invited them to come along.

John 2:1–8 NIV
On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there, and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. When the wine was gone, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no more wine.” “Woman, why do you involve me?” Jesus replied. “My hour has not yet come.” His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.” Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons. Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water”; so they filled them to the brim. Then he told them, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet.” They did so,

For the benefit of his non-Jewish readers, John provided the information that the six stone water jars were necessary to hold the water used by the Jews for ceremonial washing. The jars were evidently placed in the courtyard so that the guests might wash their feet and hands. The washing of hands before eating was of particular importance to the Jews (Matthew 15:1, 2). The water would be dipped from the jars and then poured over the feet and hands as servants assisted.
