Oak Grove was established 144 years ago in 1874.
Can you imagine how much has changed in China Spring since then?
Think about all of the advancements that have taken place since 1874.
The lightbulb hadn’t been invented yet.
The telephone wasn’t around for another 2 years.
The first moving pictures debuted in 1877.
Toilet paper didn’t exist yet.
Things have come a long way since then.
The first one cylinder 2 stroke engine was invented by Carl Benz in 1879.

Let me show you something that is amazing now, but would have blown them away.

<<Video>>

A lot of things have changed in China Springs in 144 years; a lot has changed in the 7 years that I have lived here.
We are a growing community. Like it or not. We are a growing church - like it or not...
One thing has never changed - God has remained faithful. He never fails.
God has been faithful to OG in the past. Look at all that He has done. How he has blessed us.
I want to direct your attention to the book of Joshua chapter 23 today. Before we read… a little history.

<<History of Israel in a nutshell>>

Abraham - called to go… God promised descendants, land, and blessing.
Isaac, Jacob renewed promise.
Joseph - Egypt = saves his family from famine. God is faithful.
Israel made to be slaves and God sends Moses - he has not forgotten His promise...
Moses receives the law.
Wilderness for 40 years
Joshua leads the people to take possession of the land. God goes before them.
Joshua 23 - I want to highlight a few verses in this chapter before reading verse 14.
Verses 1-3, 6, 8
Joshua 23:14 ESV
“And now I am about to go the way of all the earth, and you know in your hearts and souls, all of you, that not one word has failed of all the good things that the Lord your God promised concerning you. All have come to pass for you; not one of them has failed.
One point sermon today. With a challenge.

God is faithful.

We can trust in His faithfulness to us today.
Do not turn aside from God - not to the right, nor to the left. vs 6b
Cling to the Lord. vs 8
In the past God has been faithful.
To A/I/J/M/Joe/David/Prophets/Disciples/Church/OG.
God remains faithful today.
When we are faithless, he is faithful - 2 Tim 2:13
Joseph said: “There was not ONE THING that God failed to do. Not one.”
God is faithful to us today. He is trustworthy.
<<Eph 3:20-21>>
Ephesians 3:20–21 ESV
Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
He is able to do far more than we ask or think.
Don’t put any limits on God.
Challenge: It is the same challenge OG faced when they first became a church.

<<Love Grow Serve>>

Love God/Other
Love and have compassion on those outside the church.
Lost, sick, homeless, fatherless, hungry, poor, those in need...
