Mauna Kea, Hawaii (peak: over 13, 000ft --- Grouse Mountain is a pathetic 3000 ft) --- Highest mountain in the world (counting base (underwater to peak). Its location is sought after by astronomers b/c of clear and dark nights (over 300 viewing nights a year). And therefore many telescopes have been built there. Canada shares two of them.

Story of Subaru. - Japanese for the Pleiades constellation

A feat of engineering to build, transport. Primary mirror weighs 22 tons. And then transported up a winding mountain road.

Spectacular results.

Absurd. Go to the top of this mountain to see the telescopes. The point of a telescope is to look at something else. [telescopes --- the “point” not the telescope at all – but the stars being seen.]

Climbing Mauna Kea to see the telescopes without seeing through them

Similarly the Law – pointing to its fulfillment in Christ. - Immanuel (Isaiah's name) – God with us – the word made flesh. (John 1:14). To read it or to respond to it without accepting Jesus' invitation to follow is equally absurd.

This is the idea of the one who breaks God's laws.
