The word “adversary” means opponent or a hostile enemy.
We have many enemies—some internal (the flesh/remnants of our fallen nature) and some external (the world). But, there’s probably no greater adversary to the believer than Satan or the Devil ().
The term “satan” is of Hebrew origin and it means adversary or enemy. Other enemies, like the flesh (i.e. remnants of our fallen nature), are more internal.
We have many enemies—some internal (the flesh/remnants of our fallen nature) and some external (the world). There’s probably no greater enemy or adversary to the believer than Satan or the Devil ().
