The Good Samaritan
Intro:
Good morning all, glad to see you here this morning and welcome to our family. I hope the peace of the Lord has reached out and touched you already today. It is going to be a good day and a great sermon today as we finish up our studies on the parables. This is probably one of my favorites and I believe sums the rest of them up by taking the perspective of love for all humanity, which is what Luke is talking about in : Read
Prayer
Video on how we treat people. How do I view people and what lens do I look through? We have all been there, sitting at the light, with the person asking for money. We want to help, its in our hearts to help, but sometimes I don’t even make eye contact. Maybe its because I don’t have money or because I have become numb to the pleas. I don’t want to enable people, but I do want to help. I think in the end if we take the perspective of Christ and look through his lens and love we can never go wrong. We must see through every situation and see Christ in all people. I must be able to not let bias ruin my love for God’s creation and that is what and this parable are all about. This parable defeats our thoughts and tells us to have compassion on our neighbors so that we love as Christ loves and fulfill the commandments of God.

Conclusion:
So, let us put aside the flesh and honor the Spirit inside. We must not judge people by their outward appearance, for even Christ did not do this, but judged by the heart. The only way I know of to get to the heart of someone is to get to know that person. And we cannot get to know people if we run around with judgement outside of Grace. Just like the Priest and the Levite, by passing by on the other side. They would not help because of their religion but the Good Samaritan helped because he remembered this life is about people. People are the most important thing in this world. Everything that God has done it has been for you and for me and for all the lost out there who still need him. Today, I charge us then to go out into our community with the eyes of the Samaritan, I charge us to let down our guard and let others in, and I charge us to go out into a dying world that is broken and full of sin and bring them Jesus.
