Reasons for Thankgiving to God

1 Chronicles 16:8 Give thanks to the Lord, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done.

Psalms 50:14 Sacrifice thank offerings to God, fulfill your vows to the Most High.

Psalms 68:19 Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens. Selah.

Psalms 107:22 Let them sacrifice thank offerings and tell of his works with songs of joy.

• Some people act as if they had nothing to be thankful for!

• A lack of thankfulness is a lack of thoughtfulness.

• Ingratitude is probably the least attractive attitude anyone could possess.

Because of the Victory He has Given Us Over Sin and Death

Because of the Unspeakable Gift of His Son Jesus Christ

2 Corinthians 9:15 Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift.

Conclusion:

The Bible gives us many reasons to be thankful to God. What are you thankful for? I hope it is not just for things, or material items. I hope it is not only for wealth, power, position, or possessions. These things are all temporary and finite. I hope you are thankful for relationship, a vital, vibrant and authentic relationship with the creator of the universe; God Himself. I hope you are thankful for His Son Jesus Christ  who hung on the cross and died in your place, for your sins. I hope you are thankful for those who God has brought you into relationship with; your father, mother, husband, wife, son, daughter, sister, brother, family.

These are the ‘things’ . . . these relationships . . .  which are of eternal value . . . and truly are God's blessings are what we should be most thankful for.

This relationship with God is described best by Paul

Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
