You can’t get so hung up on where you’d rather be that you forget to make the most of where you are—-we got lost along the way, but we found each other.

And made a life, a beautiful life, together.

Imagine everything you wanted you had, and then it almost came crashing down?

The character and nature of God is revealed through the stories of our lives.

IN this story today we discover how God is Trustworthy & Faithful

Notice how God intervenes depending on the location and surrounding of the characters involved.

Notice how God works through our issues of trust & being trustworthy?

You assume someone has betrayed your trust even if you have no rightful reasoning.

You assume someone will betray you in due time, despite how honest they have been in the past.

-You are overly protective.

You are very protective of your loved ones, out of fear that they will become disloyal.

Joshua-against all odds

-You distance yourself from others.

You decide it’s best to limit your relationships in order to avoid fears of betrayal or abandonment.

-You avoid commitment.

No matter how much you care for someone, you refuse to commit yourself to him or her.

-You don’t forgive the smallest mistakes.

You make a big deal out of nothing and it’s the end of the world if someone makes the slightest mistake.

-You are excessively wary of people.

Everybody you meet you are extremely cautious and suspicious of.

-You feel lonely or depressed.

Your fears have led you to isolate yourself from others and enter a state of depression.

betrayal, abandonment, manipulation, traumatic events; learned at a young age (Trust vs. Mistrust) unpredictability of parents , environment of inconsistency, abuse, lack of parental integrity, trust destroyed by people that are critical, indifferent, or disrespectful (bullying)

1) Stepping out in risk

3) name traumatic events/betrayal/abandonment/,

4) coruage to fail forward

5) Ultimately, identify source(s) of reliability, truth, integrity

As we enter into the realm of trusting God, trusting others, and becoming trustworthy people…is it possible this could be said of us?

How many times did they ask God when he was going to fulfill his promises.

God is trustworthy by nature toward those who are not trustworthy by nature.

He shows he is trustworthy to the untrustworthy, through the stories of our lives.

If we are unfaithful, he is still faithful.

If we are faithful, His faithfulness shines through all the more.

He is guiding us into places of trusting him, this is called faithfulness & righteousness.

How do we respond to the trustworthiness and faithfulness of God?
