1. job had warped view of God.

2.God had a good reason to allow what happened to Job.
3. Job has a deep and important message for Christians today.
Good works dose mean that you following God.
You can live a good life and still miss the point of gospel.
just being a good person and doing good works, dose not mean someone is doing the will of God. the Bible teaches that being a good person is not enough.
Matthew 7:21–23 ESV
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’
Matthew 7:21-23
Ephesians 2:8–9 ESV
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
Ephesians 2:8-9
Genesis 6:9 ESV
These are the generations of Noah. Noah was a righteous man, blameless in his generation. Noah walked with God.
Genesis 6:9
Job 1:1 ESV
There was a man in the land of Uz whose name was Job, and that man was blameless and upright, one who feared God and turned away from evil.
job 1:1
Job is not relying on the relationship he has walking with God, but relying on the works and sacrifices he is offering up.
but relying on the works and sacrifices he is offering up.
Job 1:5 ESV
And when the days of the feast had run their course, Job would send and consecrate them, and he would rise early in the morning and offer burnt offerings according to the number of them all. For Job said, “It may be that my children have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts.” Thus Job did continually.
Job 1:8 ESV
And the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, who fears God and turns away from evil?”

Job 1:6 ESV
Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came among them.
what if my children die and they don’t have all their sin’s paid for? God surely will not be appeased by that!
i better make sure i do enough sacrifices so they can make it into heaven.
Jobs wants to follow GOD but thinks it is all about what he dose to earn Gods grace and blessing . it is about Job trying to appease God with works and sacrifices.
ESV“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
you can’t buy your way into heaven!
Romans 4:22-23 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’
salvation is a gift by grace, it is about walking with God
salvation is a gift by grace, it is about walking with God
salvation is a gift by grace, it is about walking with God
Not I’m not saying what Job was doing was bad, he was obviously doing good things.
We needs to look past the Action and look at the motive.
don’t read into it

but relying on the works and sacrifices he is offering up.
