How do you understand the world around you?
You have things called senses that help you take in information around you about that the reality of the world.
What are they?
Sight, smell, taste, touch, hearing
There are more like the ability to sense time and stuff, but these are your basic senses.
With these things that you have, you are able to perceive and understand the world around you.
You make sense of them by piecing all of the info you get together from your senses
Imagine if you didn’t have senses.
What would that be like?
You would have no idea what reality was like right?
Do your senses detect everything that exists around you?
Not even close, although, we can understand a lot and process it.
But there are many things that you need help to sense and pick up on.
We need extra tools to help amplify things that exist to help bring them to light for our senses.
Things microscopes or computers and such.
What are some of these things?
Radio waves.
Photons.
Ultraviolet light.
Gravity.
Radiation
Atoms.
Thoughts.
We have discovered ways to detect these realities, and try and make sense of them.
Think about how many people throughout history never knew about these things.
They had no idea, simply because they couldn’t sense them.
They had to only use their natural senses.
You have access to knowledge and things that many could only dream of.

Tonight, we will learn about some other senses that we can have to sense other things that exist.
We are going to
Paul is still speaking about the wisdom from God and the wisdom from man.
This same topic has been going on for a while now, but in many different ways.
This is important, because wisdom is a big part of life.
Especially for teenagers.
The more you can get good sound wisdom down now, the better your life will be.
It is important to understand and soak in the wisdom from God.
Because His wisdom is far greater than ours.
The book of proverbs tells us that it is more precious than gold.
Are you searching for this wisdom?
Paul’s audience is going to understand only if they are mature.
The more you mature, the more you understand.
The more mature you are, the more wisdom you should have.
Paul points out that this wisdom/knowledge can only come from
My son is seven months, and does not understand tons of things.
You guys are teenagers, and understand more than he does.
There are things you do not understand right now as teenagers,even if you think you might.
The question is, are you mature enough to handle and understand the things that Paul is speaking of?
It is implied the Corinthians are not.
They think they are, because they are still thinking with their own understanding.
Is it possible that there is something wrong with the Corinthians, and there is something they need?
Something that Paul is trying to tell them.
Paul speaks of a wisdom that is a mystery.
The idea of a mystery here is something that was hidden, or covered, but is now revealed.
The wisdom of God is a mystery
It has always existed with God.
Proverbs
proverbs 8:22-28
There is more here than the wisdom of God.
2. The wisdom of God is a myster
The truths of God.
I believe that it is more being talked about here than just God’s wisdom.
proverbs 8
That is a big part of this passage and life.
But I believe that Paul is speaking about more than this.
Other awesome realities.
Paul says that God is going to reveal things, hidden before the age, that eye has not seen, nor ear has heard.
Paul is speaking about our senses.
Eyes allow us to see, and ears to hear.
With this “hardware”, you have the ability to sense greater realities.
Imagine being both blind and deaf.
Can we think of someone who was both?
Helen Keller.
She was limited in what her senses were.
She had no idea about things that we take for granted everyday.
Like those people throughout history who have never seen an atom, or observed radio waves.
How would they react?
How would you explain it to them.
It should be mind blowing.
That is how learning things about God should be.
That is how learning things about God should be.
These truths should have that same response.
The is a greater reality that we can have access to.
God is the greater reality.
From Him come things that we could never fathom.
But we are blind to the access.
Think about what what goes beyond what we have discovered.
We have barely scratched the surface.
Things like physics and quantum physics.
Science can only detect natural things.
There are things that are metaphysical.
This means “beyond” the physical realm.
Or supernatural.
These things no eye can see, or ear can hear.
They go beyond any device that we can use to amplify for our senses.
This blows my mind.
Lets study the Mantis Shrimp.
It is neither a mantis nor a shrimp.
It is weird looking, but has the most developed eye that we know of.
Humans can only see one focal point in each eye, giving us what we call “binocular vision.”
