Jesus loves to compare himself with simple, yet vital things that all of us need to live prosperous and blessed lives.
we need light to live. it dispels and scatters the darkness that creeps into our souls, our minds and our lives.

Maybe not for the elite, high protein, low gluten, low GI, vegan crowd, for over 90% of the planet bread and grain is vital for sustenance and growth.

water is so important that God made it the most abundant substance on this planet.
71% of the earth is water.
We are a blue planet from space, not a green one.
Jesus wants us to know that without him, we will thirst and we will not survive.
Today Jesus introduces us to another wonderful truth about himself.
The Door
When Jesus spoke these words his hears understood clearly what he was saying.
He was not saying “I am like a door” but “I am the door”.
Shepherds were the literal doors for their sheep.
Within the enclosure there was safety, and at night the shepherd would lie across the opening to the boma.
For a sheep to go out or for a predator of thief to come into it would have to pass over the shepherd.
The only way ion, and the only way our were through the door.
1: Jesus is the door to the Father.
This mirrors what we spoke about last week.
but look at what happens in the previous chapter.
Jn 9 1-34mmmm
The religious leaders, reviled and cast out the healed man.
By doing this they were claiming to have authority over who go to heaven and who does not.
Listen very carefully, the authority of deciding on who is part of The kingdom of God belongs to the king.
No man can grant you access, no church can grant you access, only Jesus is the door to the Father.
2: Jesus is the door to Security.
“That be saved.”
Everyone need security.
no matter which psychology school you follow they are agree on 1 thing: For a person to function they mist feel secure.
For a person to experience any kind of joy and happiness, they must feel secure.
People look for security through their live and in differant places.
Children and they blankets and toys.
Teenagers with their boyfriends/ girlfriends.
young adults with their education.
Adults with their jobs and bank accounts.
Here is the problem: The blanket wears out, the boyfriend dumps you, your education does not qualify you and your job is never secure and the rand is always falling.
there are poor security measures.
But Let me tell you: When Jesus is the door and you are behind him - That is the safest place in the universe.
AW Tozer: There is no safer place to be that in the will of God.
Jesus is our security from the past.
We have all made mistakes.
We have sinned against each other, Children have sinned against their parents and parents against their children, husbands and wives, employers and employee.
But most al off, we have sinned against God.
Our past mistakes could cost us everything, were it not for the grace and blood of Jesus.
Jesus is our security from the present.
Right now, you may have a lot going for you.
You haev healthy, roof over head, food in belly, money in the bank.
But let me tell you Jesus Christ is the only true security in the world.
Jesus is our Security from the Future
Imagine facing judgment without Jesus.
Imagine standing before God on judgment day and all his wrath being poured out.
I cannot think of anything worse.
But thats to Jesus, that is not in my future.
3: Jesus is the door to satisfaction
“Find pasture”.
The Shepherd not only had to watch over the sheep at night, but also had to lead them to green grazing pastures in the day.
In this way the sheep were fully dependant on the shepherds for their satisfaction.
Jesus had indeed led us to the greenest pastures there are.
When we were in the world our grazing grounds were barren, they were littered with Satans lies and the worlds thorns, the waters were muddy sess pool of fleshly indulgences.
but now he has called us to partake of his goodness and grace.
we enjoy the Spirits peace and God’s love.
2 Doors
Jesus is the door.
He is the door to the father, the door to safety and the door to satisfaction.
But today He comes to your door.
Will you open the door to your heart and let the door to heaven come in?
