Let’s Celebrate Donna’s Home Going!

You may ask the question, “Was she good enough to get into heaven?”
The answer is… Absolutely not! And absolutely no one is!
Please consider these thoughts:
KING DAVID
1. An Adulterer (Stole one of his most trusted men, Uriah’s wife while Uriah was out protecting his own life.”
2. A Murderer (Had Uriah killed to hide his sin.)
3. Had a repentant heart
-13
Psalm 51:1–13 NIV
1 Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions. 2 Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin. 3 For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me. 4 Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight; so you are right in your verdict and justified when you judge. 5 Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me. 6 Yet you desired faithfulness even in the womb; you taught me wisdom in that secret place. 7 Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. 8 Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones you have crushed rejoice. 9 Hide your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquity. 10 Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. 11 Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. 12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me. 13 Then I will teach transgressors your ways, so that sinners will turn back to you.
Ps 51:1-13
Psalm 51:16–17 NIV
16 You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it; you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings. 17 My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise.
Ps 51:16-
4. God Testifies Concerning David, A Man after My Heart
A Man AFTER MY OWN HEART
Acts 13:22 NIV
22 After removing Saul, he made David their king. God testified concerning him: ‘I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart; he will do everything I want him to do.’
5. Look At God’s Attitude Towards King David
Luke 1:31–32 NIV
31 You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. 32 He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David,
1. Jesus Will Be Given the Throne of David
1. Jesus Will Be Given the Throne of David
2. David Declared As the Father Of Jesus
2. David Declared As the Father Of Jesus
--WHY WOULD GOD WANT TO ASSOCIATE WITH THIS VILE MAN?
– THERE IS NONE RIGHTEOUS
6. There Is None Righteous – Not Even One
Romans 3:9–20 NIV
9 What shall we conclude then? Do we have any advantage? Not at all! For we have already made the charge that Jews and Gentiles alike are all under the power of sin. 10 As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one; 11 there is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God. 12 All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one.” 13 “Their throats are open graves; their tongues practice deceit.” “The poison of vipers is on their lips.” 14 “Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness.” 15 “Their feet are swift to shed blood; 16 ruin and misery mark their ways, 17 and the way of peace they do not know.” 18 “There is no fear of God before their eyes.” 19 Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God. 20 Therefore no one will be declared righteous in God’s sight by the works of the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of our sin.
7. Being Right With God Is By Faith Alone
JUSTIFIED BY FAITH APART FROM WORKS
Romans 3:28 NIV
28 For we maintain that a person is justified by faith apart from the works of the law.
JUSTIFIED BY FAITH = PEACE WITH GOD
Romans 5:1 NIV
1 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
Clearly NO ONE WHO RELIES ON THEIR OWN WORKS IS JUSTIFIED BY GOD
For God So Loved The World
John 3:16 NIV
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
