If you have ever wondered what your purpose was in life, you are not alone. Mankind has always asked this question.
We are created for meaning and purpose after the image of God who does everything with meaning and purpose.
- God’s purposes ultimately prevail.
We will never find our purpose in life outside of God who created us!
How can we find the real purpose that we are here for?

WE CAN FIND THE GREATEST MEANING IN LIFE IN BEING USED BY GOD FOR HIS PURPOSES

We were created for God’s purposes. God was not created and does not exist for our purposes.
We are God’s instruments to be used for His purposes -
2 Timothy 2:20–21 ESV
Now in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver but also of wood and clay, some for honorable use, some for dishonorable. Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from what is dishonorable, he will be a vessel for honorable use, set apart as holy, useful to the master of the house, ready for every good work.
God saves us and we are created in Christ for good works -
Ephesians 2:10 ESV
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
Doing good works for God is always directed toward helping others. -
Galatians 6:10 ESV
So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.
Finding our purpose is more about God and others than it is about pleasing ourselves.
Jesus found His greatest fulfillment through being used to carry out the Father’s will.
Jesus knew His purpose and found fulfillment in pleasing the Father -
John 4:32–34 ESV
But he said to them, “I have food to eat that you do not know about.” So the disciples said to one another, “Has anyone brought him something to eat?” Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to accomplish his work.
Jesus accomplished His purpose for God -
John 17:4 ESV
I glorified you on earth, having accomplished the work that you gave me to do.
We will find no greater meaning than allowing God to use us to carry out His purposes.

WE CAN BE USED BY GOD FOR SPECIAL PURPOSES WHEN WE ACTIVELY SEEK TO BE HOLY

If we want to be used as an instrument of God we must not let anything get in the way of being Holy.
We will be used by God for special purposes if seek holiness through cleansing our lives of unrighteousness -
There are three things that are necessary to seek holiness
2 Timothy 2:19 ESV
But God’s firm foundation stands, bearing this seal: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of the Lord depart from iniquity.”
TURN away from wickedness (sin) -
2 Timothy 2:19 ESV
But God’s firm foundation stands, bearing this seal: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and, “Let everyone who names the name of the Lord depart from iniquity.”
2. RUN from evil desires -
3. PURSUE righteousness - ;
2 Timothy 2:22 ESV
So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.
Being like Christ is our goal and Identity, we cannot pursue Christ while turning back to sin, it goes against who we are in Him.
When we submit to God’s purposes and plan for our lives we then find out who we are in Him!
