Some wise advise!
A proverb is “a short pithy saying” in general use.
It is stating a general truth or piece of advise.
Proverbs are practical, proverbs are instructive, proverbs are for prevention, for warning, for reminding and yes for application.
Do we listen for, pay attention to wise advise?
Do we adhere to warning and recognize what has been done for us, in other words appreciate the benefits of the warning and instruction?
May we be willing as we look at this passage today to incline our ear, to listen to apply some good Godly wisdom that helps us to lead a Godly life.
Finding God’s will for your Godly life
Who does not want to know God’s perfect and acceptable will for their life?
The one who is a fool, or the scoffer maybe, but the Christian should be willing to seek God’s will through some Biblical wisdom.

To discern, is to perceive, to recognize or to distinguish something, or someone.
This is discerning the fear of the Lord! and when we do that we can understand His will for us and we will seek it to apply it!
Finding, recognizing what God has done
We know the reason for wisdom.
We know how to receive wisdom.
We know how to find God’s will for us through wisdom, now may we know, may we recognize what we have in God by wisdom.

Knowing, understanding some of the benefits (blessings) we have in the Lord makes us wise.

Discernment is knowing the right thing, in this case righteousness, for the right time and for the right reason and application.

Seeing the warning signs of the wicked
Signs maybe visible at times but do we pay attention to them?
The writer is giving us some clear warning signs for a purpose.

When we understand what we have in the Lord, we don’t want to be distracted, detoured, discouraged, dismayed, derailed from what we have by the lure, appeal of the world which is evil.
