All Christians must stand before God and be judged. We will be judged for what we do, and what we fail to do. Paul warns us to examine ourselves...

For we must all stand before Christ to be judged. We will each receive whatever we deserve for the good or evil we have done in this earthly body.

10For we must all stand before Christ to be judged. We will each receive whatever we deserve for the good or evil we have done in this earthly body.

JUDGMENT OF OUR CHARACTER

A. Attitudes—Our thoughts and feelings control us. Your attitudes will make you a success or a failure.

(NLT) 5 In the blink of an eye wealth disappears, for it will sprout wings and fly away like an eagle. 6 Don’t eat with people who are stingy; don’t desire their delicacies. 7 They are always thinking about how much it costs. “Eat and drink,” they say, but they don’t mean it.

6 Don’t eat with people who are stingy; don’t desire their delicacies.
7 They are always thinking about how much it costs. “Eat and drink,” they say, but they don’t mean it.

B. Actions—Living in the Spirit will make our actions different. We must live in the Spirit daily.

So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves.

16So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves.

C. Appetites—A hunger for God will change our character. God blesses those who hunger and thirst for justice, for they will be satisfied. He will fill us, if we are hungry for spiritual things.

6God blesses those who hunger and thirst for justice, for they will be satisfied. He will fill us, if we are hungry for spiritual things.

D. Affections— Loving the world shows a lack of love for the things of God. 15 Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. 16 For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world.

E. Ambitions— Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. 6 Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. Solomon gave us the words of Jesus in many years before Christ was born.

JUDGMENT OF OUR CONVERSATION

A. Thoughts— You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. . As Christians, we should have the “mind of Christ.” Thinking bad is just as evil as doing bad!

B. Talking—We will be judged as to how we use our words. tells us: 37 The words you say will either acquit you or condemn you.”

37 The words you say will either acquit you or condemn you.”

C. The wicked tongue, I believe I have preached about this before?— tells us: If you claim to be religious but don’t control your tongue, you are fooling yourself, and your religion is worthless. NOTE THE SINS OF THE TONGUE: Gossip, lying, slander, profanity, whispering, blasphemy, complaining, judging.

JUDGMENT OF OUR CONSECRATION

A. Time—. Knowing the importance of time, and using it wisely! We are commanded to give 1/10 of our money to God. Why not give 1/10 of our time to God? This would be almost 17 hours per week. Any takers?

B. Testimony— But God’s truth stands firm like a foundation stone with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and “All who belong to the Lord must turn away from evil.” Talk is not enough! God wants all Christians to show what Christ has done.

C. Traits/Actions/people see what we do— The members of the council were amazed when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, for they could see that they were ordinary men with no special training in the Scriptures. They also recognized them as men who had been with Jesus.

JUDGMENT OF OUR COMPASSION

A. Compassion That Stirs— Yet preaching the Good News is not something I can boast about. I am compelled by God to do it. How terrible for me if I didn’t preach the Good News..... Paul was so filled with compassion for the lost that he could not keep quiet.

16 Yet preaching the Good News is not something I can boast about. I am compelled by God to do it. How terrible for me if I didn’t preach the Good News! Paul was so filled with compassion for the lost that he could not keep quiet.

B. Compassion That Serves—The Christians went everywhere preaching the gospel. And every day, in the Temple and from house to house, they continued to teach and preach this message: “Jesus is the Messiah.”

C. Compassion That Surrenders— But now, if you will only forgive their sin—but if not, erase my name from the record you have written!” What compassion, What love that Moses had, He was willing to lose his own soul to see his friends saved.

D. Compassion That Sacrifices—Paul had scars—marks in body, because he suffered for the Lord’s sake. From now on, don’t let anyone trouble me with these things. For I bear on my body the scars that show I belong to Jesus.

17From now on, don’t let anyone trouble me with these things. For I bear on my body the scars that show I belong to Jesus.

When you think of heaven, think of the judgment day! No Christian can escape this great day. There will be sorrow and tears at this judgment. Many Christians will see the many things they could have done for the Lord, but failed to do. Do your best every day for the Lord, then at this judgment, you will be happy and rewarded by the Lord.
