Introduction
Explain a story about weather cirumstances and being unprepared.
Explain Jesus having to go through season.
Explain what a season is.
I want to ask you a question this evening.
We just finished youth camp and summer is now ending so it seems as if the season is changing.
Just as seasons change in the physical they also change in the spiritual.
So let me ask you.
How do you know what season of life you are in?
Are you in a grinding season, a dry season, are you in a season of rest.
Are you in a season of preperation for a new school or a new job or looking for your godly mate?
What season do you find yourself in?
I want you to evaluate for a moment.
If you do know what season of life or what timing you are in how do you prepare or get prepared for the season you are in.
As we heard from my story, being unprepared in a certain season can have consequences.
It is the same in the spiritual world.
We sometimes wonder why things aren’t going right spiritually for us?
Are you prepared spiritually for the season you are in?
Are you handling correctly the season you are in?
Preparing for the change of season
So what do we as believers do to prepare for when the seasons of our lives change?
A lot of us are pretty young still and the seasons changes haven’t been as drastic, but what can we do now?
There are 3 things I want us to remember when preparing for the seasons of our lives.
God has a purpose.
This one could be the hardest to figure out and sometimes we don’t see it maybe even in our liftetime, but just as God has purposed your life and existence, He purposes the seasons you go through.
2. God has a process
2. God has a process
2 Corinthians 3
The whole need for the process is that we are being transformed more and more into the image of Christ.
Into glory
3. God has a promise.
3. God has a promise.
You think ok David so knowing these things is good.
So how do we prepare?
Who better to look to than Jesus.
I think a lot of us lack a deep rooting into community and the body.
The reason Jesus was able to handle the seasons of His life and ministry so well is because He was rooted into the father and the Spirit.
He knew that he wasn’t able to do it alone and so he was sure to root in.
You ask well He was God.
True, but He was also man and had to endure the same things that man had to and more.
So how did Jesus root in?
Jesus was intentional
He was alone
3.
He was consumed (explain)
Let your season experience help others
