Missions:
“It is the whole business of the whole church to preach the whole gospel to the who
— Charles H. Spurgeon
Daryl Guder, Author of Missional Church said in his book and I quote.
“The great modern missionary movement has been, despite all the controversy and debate, a truly successful enterprise.”
3 Declare his glory among the nations,
his marvelous deeds among all peoples.
Galations 6:9
psalm
The mark of a great church is not its seating capacity but its sending capacity- Mike Stachura.
“It is the whole business of the whole church to preach the whole gospel to the whole world.”
— Charles H. Spurgeon
That is our great commission!
In fact Mike Stachura once said and I quote “The mark of a great church is not its seating capacity but its sending capacity”
The bible says in NIV :Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.
And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
The bible says in NIV :Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.
And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”
Our time in Cuba confirmed just that.
We went with an assurance that God does send us but with the uncertainty of what we were to expect but as God confirmed this scripture to us, that He would be with us to the very end.
Indeed he really was.
As we share what our time was like in Cuba I want to simultaneously share with you what i believe the theme of missions was to us in this season in three points.
We are sent because he was first sent
In this Scripture he actually goes on to to breathe the holy spirit on the disciples.
This is so essential to receive the power of the holy spirt, the helper, the interceder and comforter so that when he sent us we would be equipped to be the extension of the hands and feet of jesus.
We know in scripture he tells us that when he was getting ready to leave them that he couldn't be with us physically so he left the helper.
The HOLY SPIRIT
And it is essential that as we follow in the example of jesus that just as he was sent he sends us that we go with the holy spirit,
NIV-But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
I say this because as I mentioned before there was a lot of uncertainties but also culture shock when we first got there
And going with the holy spirit helped us to complete the mission .
-Give account to being brought into their context and culture shock
If we didn't go and bring the holy spirit with us we might not have been able to handle, embrace and push through the now context we had brought to.

NIV for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in?
And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard?
And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?
While Christ answered his call of being sent to be the lamb of GOd.
Remember in Getsemony he prayed if this be your will pass this cup from me.
Yet he walked out where he was being sent and because of that salvation was bought to the world.
So as we follow the example of Christ we are sent because he was first sent, how can the world know of this salvation if we stay stuck in our own Getsemony moments.
Surely we are like jesus when we have questioned why, our Getsemony sounds a lot of times sound like “take this cup from em because its not my will.
IF we are his example and we are sent because he was first sent, we receive the holy spirit that he breathes on each of is to be the extention of his hands and feet to bring salvation to all the world.
Our purposes , pur callings, each of us have-a calling, while unique in different ways we all have this great commission imbedded in each of them.
The ultimate purpose we all share in common is being sent because he first was sent to fulfill
matthew 16:15
Cleaning lady testimony.
2. Our testimony is for the mission field.
We need a testimony to be equipped.
One of the interesting thing that I learned about missions through this first time experience for me.
Was such a myth to me really because you will hear a lot of people say missions are for people called to that
But in actuality missions can be right here in your own land.
It is simply taking the Gospel, the word of God and your story collided to be living proof of his transformative word at work in the lives if his people so when people hear the gospel they see it first as a testimony.

3.
There will always be a harvest
Our obedience to go when sent, to share our testimony brought about a harvest beyond our imagination.
Share the testimonies of healings, miracles, and hunger we've never seen before
Our obedience to go when sent, to share our testimony brought about a harvest beyond our imagination.
We are sent because he was first sent
Our testimony is for the mission field
