Jeremiah 29:4–13 NIV
4 This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says to all those I carried into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon: 5 “Build houses and settle down; plant gardens and eat what they produce. 6 Marry and have sons and daughters; find wives for your sons and give your daughters in marriage, so that they too may have sons and daughters. Increase in number there; do not decrease. 7 Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.” 8 Yes, this is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: “Do not let the prophets and diviners among you deceive you. Do not listen to the dreams you encourage them to have. 9 They are prophesying lies to you in my name. I have not sent them,” declares the Lord. 10 This is what the Lord says: “When seventy years are completed for Babylon, I will come to you and fulfill my good promise to bring you back to this place. 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

1. God’s purpose is perfect

You are fearfully and wonderfully made
God took His time making you
Everything you go through has a purpose
Learn the lesson and move on

2. God gives directives for success

God said to build houses (you will be there a while)
He said to settle down (don’t look to get out)
He said to plant and eat the product (you will be there a while)
He said to get married and have children (don’t stop living)
Your children should live a fruitful life
God said to Increase in number (do not decrease)
God said to pray for peace and prosperity where you are living
As the city prospers, you prosper

3. God warns to protect

Do not listen to the nay-sayers
Do not listen to everyone that has dreams
If their dreams do not align with what God said, do not listen
Do not listen to everyone who says they are prohets
Test the spirits

4. God’s plans will be fulfilled

God works everything for the good of those who are called and love Him
You were displaced but it was for a season
Your current situation did not cancel the plan of God
God is taking you back to the place of blessing
Seek the will of God

5. You have to see it God’s way

You have to see yourself in it
Do not see yourself out of it
Do not think that you are waiting for the storm
Many miss blessings because they are looking at the problem
Many talk themselves out of blessings because they have been displaced
Slap yourself so that you can see it God’s way
